Default Opinions on this JVC CD/MP3 player!

I was thinking about getting the Pioneer all in one system but now I've changed my mind and just looking for a nice looking CD/MP3 player. I've seen this JVC one on car domain and was wondering if any has it installed in there crossfire.

http://www.cardomain.com/item/JVCKDLHX500?vq_id=none

Someone is selling it brand new for $250 on ebay. Anyone have any other suggestions on a good CD/MP3 player. It's gotta be silver though lol.
Thanks

i JUST bought that unit this morning from www.sounddomain.com for $309, including the factory connector adapter (scosche vw01 i believe) and whatever other bag of goodies they include. the only thing left to buy is the antenna dapter. ive been to best buy just to play with it and it seems like a good unit. ill report back once its delivered and installed.

heres a thread i found when searching for replacement head units... https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...pic.php?t=1766 FYI, the 700 shown in tat thread is discontinued.

Thanks for the reply. The pics look great, looks like this will be the one I go for. I'm considering getting a CD changer as well.

Let us know how the install goes

Thanks again

Actually Great news.....The JVC KD-SH9700 isn't gone yet.... You can still get it online at Rex for even less than I paid for it... http://www.rexstores.com/flexon/site...YBQN5/sku.html
I absolutely love mine and it looks AND sounds wonderful.

Danwell -- you used the speaker outputs, as opposed to the RCA pre-outs, to feed the Infinity amp, correct?

No, the installation guy used the RCA pre-outs to ensure clean un-amplified signal to the Crossfire's amp. He said when people use speaker outs to feed an amp it not only colors the sound but shortens the life of the amp.

The Stock Crossfire head unit didn't sound anywhere as good as the JVC. The stock one had harsh highs, shallow mids and over boomy lows.

Some people have probably changed their stock amp and speakers but The stock ones with a nice head unit made all the difference to me.

Can you get a shot a little closer to the front console?

And what's up with the porty-potty in your next door neighbor's driveway :!: :?: :!:

Pretty cool, the night lighting matches the Crossfire's stock green dash color.

it matches great; you can make the illumination any color you want. and you can have daytime and nighttime lighting different, using either the headlight switch or set it to the clock in the jvc itself.

Thanks for the close-ups. Looks like a close silver match, but I'm looking for a something closer.

I checked this unit at Best Buy this evening, talk about not very intuitive to "use". I've had a lot of electronics components in my days, but this thing >almost< defied figuring out. Not sure I could be happy with it, though I'm sure once you RTFM and play with it a while it all makes sense and becomes "easy". Hmmm....actually, that may be an advantage. A passenger that only rides occasionally would not be tempted to fiddle with it... :!: :!:

Yes I did look at it. Seeking something with satellite controls, perfect world the satellite tuner would be built in and I only need to add antenna and subscription. Someone recently posted here about one that has that, and I'm checking into it.

If you want something with a closer match try this. I have the aluminum trim kit and it matches perfect with that same headunit. The kit also covers your glove box, the arch around the stearing, and door trim. I will take pics this week and post them.
