Default TSW Thruxton Wheels!!

Well they look AMAZING!!! Well ... let me state that again.. THE FRONTS look amazing!!! The REARS!!! ... are plain silver... lol Discount Tire ordered the wheels right from TSW and somehow they forgot to PAINT the rear rims! ... because they dont even make these in SILVER!!! ONLY HYPER BLACK! ... my front ones are perfect... but my rear rims will be in within 7 days...

It was a nightmare for me at first! I got them on... they were rubbing on the E-brake spring on the back left tire... Discount tire couldnt figure out what to do... I got a lot of help from Adam **Reference to the meet at Great Lakes Crossing for Ted (Landho) ... He works up at the Discount Tire near GLC** ... anyways... I left discount tire with it squeeling like mad cuz the bolts were rubbing on the spring... brought it back home popped off the rear left tire and my father grinded down the bolts and now there is no noise! Only embarressment.... silver and black!!!... thank god its not that noticeable lol

But I love these new rims! they look amazing on the car! I can't wait for next few projects...

1) " turbo-back exhaust system"... its in the newest issue of Turbo and high performance magazine! I'll get a copy and post it for everyone... somehow a turbo hooks up near the end of your exhaust... and then gives you boost... dont ask me again... I know its out there.. its BRAND NEW! and looks like it can bolt on to mostly EVERYTHING! ...
2) Someone said Renntech upgrade for 7k?!?!!? ... That is within my grasp!!! I need to know solid numbers!
3) Last few blue lights...
4) Carbon Fiber hood... molded and setup with the EXACT same styling as this one... but in carbon fiber... WILL LOOK HOTT!!!
5) Getting the molding around the window to match the car...
6) ... Getting better at Autocrossing!!! Only room for improvement before winter hits town

Hey Bobba glad you like them,I like the stock better myself,as for the hood good luck, and the windshield looks better stock on your color. Mainly because the stock wheels have the concave design and color that goes so good on the XF .I would like a different emblem on them maybe REDCROSS can make some? Just my taste.

Bob,

Great look. Can I ask what you did with the old wheels? I'm still looking for a couple of 18's for my winter snow tires. I'ld take all four if you needed but really only need the fronts. Let me know and maybe we could work something out.

Thanks for the replies!
haha sorry not gonna sell the 18 and 19's with the HORRID!!!! Conti's on them... gonna use them for F'ing around... maybe if I start to learn how to drift I could have some fun with them lol even though... it will be hard to drift without a stick... but again... if I can I will

Just called Eisenhaus!!! MY EXHAUST was finished last week! is on its way to Chicago from Germany... I talked to one of the reps... they were excited to see it on a Xfire... at first he was like... that wont fit... i sent him a underbody picture and he was like... OMG its the same as the SLK... now he's gonna send it free shipping to me if I get him some pics... they pulled in a +17hp dyno on the SLK32... and +12hp on the SLK320... so he's guessing +10 - 11hp dyno'ed on the Xfire IM EXCITED!!!

I think that "turbo back exhaust" is for cars with Turbos alread installed in them and helps them increast boost output.

How much was your Eisenhaus?

18x8 Standard in the Fronts... with PS2's
19x9.5 275 in the Rears... with PS2's... they are bigger and slightly look it too

:? now shhhh... I dont know if that makes me go into STS in AutoX'ing... its really not a true "change" in size.... so for godsakes I hope not... because I'd get 0wN3d even more then I do now....

I should also say... The PS2 perform COMPLETELY different then my last tires... I havent got to even test them really... but I know going around the entrance ramp on the freeway at 50 i used to "eek".. 65 I still had nothing last night... ill test it harder today...

Here's some data for your exhaust + chip setup: I went to the Renntech site and looked at the SLK320 mod packages and the torque gains for their Chip + airbox is 14 lb-ft. For Chip + airbox + catback exhaust the torque gain is 24 lb-ft.
I think it's safe to say that after you get your new Eisenhaus, you'll be at 250 lb-ft of torque (conservative estimate). Not bad at all!

I bet the 275's looks pretty sweet from the back, but that is a bit of overkill from a performance perspective. Did you go with 275/35 or 275/30? The 35's set you at 1/2" taller and the 30's set you at 1/2" shorter. If you went with the 35's you're going to notice a bit of a decrease in torque since your gearing is now tall. Not to mention that's a bit more turning weight to the already overweight rear tires. I hope your goal is "the look" over "performance" here.

Doesn't the SRT6 stick with the 255/35's?

As for your wheels, I like the dark gunmetal look, just don't like the styling...

SRT comes with 275/35/19" rear same 225/40/18" front,The 275 would be 1/4" higher .but 3/4" wider.

great looking wheels. maybe im in the minority here in saying i think that maybe the wheels dont "match" as well as stock, but they give it a much more aggressive look, IMHO, and they are definately something im looking into. as for that turbo on the exhaust thing you are talking about, i did some research on that myself a few weeks ago because, as some of you may know, im power hungry. what i read was that they primarily run on v8's, trans am's and firebirds. i forgot the website, but ill look for it. they spin very low boost, and despite a bunch of arguments, its been pretty much aknowledged that they spool at a decent rpm, for you low end ower fans. i like reving it up personally, and that system works well for that as well. the main complaints were that the turbos hang so low because they are literally attached to the exhaust that they can get damaged on speed bumps and driveways. as for cost, not too sure either. ill do some research today at work and tell you what i can find out.

1/4" higher per side wall is correct... 1/2" overall larger diameter (0.55" to be exact).

I'm still not convinced the SRT6 has 275's. Chrysler.com says 255/35's

275/30's is what I have on there.. I've felt no change except for better... remember im coming from the horrid Conti's... and I've felt a EXTREME difference between these tires... and if you hold the two in each arm... the new rims + tires are hell of a lot lighter... i should measure just how much!

I got the magazine and will post about the article in a few hours!
