Default Hypertech Chip Programers...

I got into a conversation with someone on the Jeep forum I belong to. He swears by the Hypertech Chip programer that let's him set the parameters within limits and he can undo them himself. Has anyone ever heard of this product? I checked the site but found no numbers to back anything up. Thanks

AZ I have used hypertech on both my vette and my mustang GT. Excellent product, especially on the Mustang... you can adjust the cooling fans , trans mission shifts gear changes if you changed the rear end and it also has a preformance engine setup as well.

They run about 350 dollars.

Thery plug into the computer port on the OBDII cars, they dowload the stock settings and upload the performance settings. And yes you can return to your stock settings.

This is smething I was hoping could be done to the Crossfire, but I guess they haven't got there yet.

Email me if you have any more questions..

Mo

When I started looking into chipping mine, Hypertech was the first company I contacted. They told me that because of the low numbers of Crossfires that they had no plans to develope a programmer for it anytime soon.... That was back in Dec. or Jan. .... Power Chip and Upsolute were the only 2 that were chipping Crossfire ate the time because they also did SLKs. Hypertech doesn't do the SLK either.

I live in Memphis where they are based. At this time, they have no intention of developing a chip for the Crossfire.

Thanks for the inputs. I know they don't have a program for the XF, I was just wondering... in general, what performance gain can be expected on other vehicles? How does this system stack up against Upsolute? (I have a thread going in the Jeep forum I belong to... the guy can't come up with performance numbers and I can't find any on their website).

I think any mods for the SLK is what we're gonna be inheriting for now. There must be something out there for us in the SLK set up since it's been in the market for awhile.

AZ

For the most part again depending on the car, the gains are at the most about 10% . Probaly realistically 5 %, the main benefits are cooling and transmission settings if yyour jeep is a stick...

To me 400 dollars for maybe 110-15 horse maybe a little steep

My opinion.
