Hi, well i just got my 05 Crossfire limited today and still trying to figure out all its features. Now when i park the car, turn off the headlights to the middle position and take my key out everything is fine. Untill i open my door to exit the vehicle. A loud beeps starts as soon as i open the door to exit like if the key was still in the ignition or the headlights were on but they are not!! that is getting annoying. anyone knows what might be causing this annoying beep?:conf used:

 

Does your car have an aftermarket stereo head unit? If so, some of the units that have detachable faces will give an audible alarm reminding you to remove the face of the unit. How long does the beeping last?

thanks for answering so quickly! but no, it has the stock radio. the beeping lasts until i close the door. and starts again when i open the door i believe. Also when i press unlock on the stock remote am i suppose to hear a beep confirming that the doors are unlock or just one flash on the lights?

 

If the car is stock, locking and unlocking the doors with the remote will only flash the lights (once for unlock and three times for lock). There is a mod on here if you'd like to have it beep - inexpensive and relatively simple. Have you tried leaving the lights on or the key in when you open the door to see if it is the same "beep" when you do that? Or is it a different alert tone?

Im gonna check out that mod soon it sounds nice. so i checked the noise and it is the same noise when the key is in and when the headlights are left on. i recorded a video, can i upload it to this forum so you can see what im talking about?

 

I've seen people post videos up on here but I haven't done it. So, I'm sure you can but I will be of no help on how to do it. It would be helpful, though, to see the state of the car when it's doing this. Now, I don't think this has anything to do with the problem, but since these cars are so finicky about their volvoltage and

 

Sorry - doing this from the phone and hit the wrong part of my screen. What I was going to say was be sure to check your battery connections. Make sure they are very clean and tight. Also, can you give us an idea of how old your battery is? Is it a white "Varta" battery? I've seen some reports of the cars doing goofy things when the battery is on it's way out. Even though it will still start the car, it can still cause little problems if it's weak. Just trying to get some info listed so the other members can chime in and help out.

I think the wing does funky things when the battery is going out, but I would check that also. The video would be nice. You can post it to youtube and throw the link here in the thread.

 

My NA has done this occasionally for the past 5 years. Generally putting the key back in the ignition and turning to RUN position and then switching off and removing the key resolves the beeping. Never really bothered me enough to do anything about it.

I currently dont know which battery it has since im at work right now. But i also noticed that when the wing is up and i try to put it back down it goes down in intervals like about 4-5 intervals until it finally goes down all the way, is this normal?

 

Yes, it's a safety feature I think for if you have a hand there or something.

That is strange... When it is beeping with the door open try starting it and see if the beep's go away.

 

when i start the car with the door opened and the beeping noise active, it goes away. now when i shut off the car, the beep starts again. i also noticed when i start the car, the button to deploy the wing flashes red like 2-3 times.

 

If i disconnect the battery terminals and reconnect them would that harm the car?
