Default Supercharger comparison - 3.2 vs 5.5

In case you guys are interested in the size difference between the V6 and V8 (3.2 and 5.5) superchargers, here are some photos of the two side-by-side. The 3.2 supercharger is only 35lbs, while the 5.5 monster weighs in at 55.

Hey Anthony....the ribs in that cast...do think they could be sanded down? That sound bad, honed down might sound better or do you think they have some structural value. I figured it just the mold they came out of...it would look better if they were gone the the whole thing polished...just a thought

No, they serve a purpose. That is where the smog pump lines run. Machine it down and you'll hit air.

Doc, do you mean the "waffle pattern"? If so, I do think that would "weaken" the structural integrity of the supercharger housing.

I think it would also serve to dissapate heat with the increase surface area.

As several others already posted, they serve some purpose but they can be polished, a combination of fine wire brushes, cup and end types will allow for a nice polish. I did that before I painted my SC
