Default Has anyone swapped seats from an 04 to an 05 yet? Need help!

Hi everyone,

Stupid me but I bought seats from an 04 and want to put them in my 05.. I didn't realize or think that the plugs would be different! Everything on these cars was the same I thought.... don't know why they would change them!

Anyways, has anyone swapped these seats? Need help with the wiring.. not sure what goes where. I also have 10 pins on my 04 seats and only 8 pins on my 05 harness....

How would I go about finding what wire goes where? Thank you in advance....

I tried reading the service manual but I really am not that good at it... i can splice and solder the wires but as far as finding what ones go where I have never done this before.

A couple of questions/comments, (1) is your 2005 Cossfire a base model with cloth seats; (2) If it has the cloth seats, the difference is the leather has heated seats from the 2004 model; (3) The different configuration would be the connection for the heated seats 8-10; (4) Use the search button and type in swapping seats or some related phrase to find the install procedures on the forum, this has been done in the past, good luck....

Base models do not have power or heated seats, that is my understanding reading the 2005 specification sheet.
No power or heat equals no wires.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies and sorry for making so many new threads on this forum.. just wanna get my crossfire back in tip top shape because it's such a joy to drive and these issues really made it terrible and not fun to drive

Anyways, the wires are all there (from 05 limited).. just the connectors are different. The difference is that on the 05 harness the heated seat wires (2x brown and 2x solid blue) terminate into 2 pins on the 05, on the 04 seat harness it stays 4 pins. I cut off the connector under the 04 seats, connected both the brown wires and blue wires (so I had 2 wires total) and then t-tapped them into my 05 harness.

I did the same with the power wires, and seat belt ones as well. The colors were not the same (although close) so I had to look at my 05 seat to see what colors went where. If I remember or get time I will come back and post what colors connect where so anyone in the future that finds this thread can swap seats if needed... still need to find a 2 tone gray driver side door panel to complete my 2 tone interior!
