Default Good vibrations? Maybe not...

Hey all, I was wondering if you could help me with a diagnosis. I've noticed that my car vibrates quite a bit at highway speeds to the point where yesterday I noticed my passenger seat visibly vibrating... Car has 88k miles on it and I believe I'm the third or so owner...

I admittedly haven't been under my car much and am not very familiar with our suspension set up.. am I feeling something that is normal? Possibly the shocks as the root cause? Bushings or something else that might be the culprit?

I haven't replaced my steering stabilizer yet but I assume that would just have to do with the steering response.. I don't know if/when the shocks were changed..

or could this all just be a tire issue?

Any advice or thoughts are welcome

Sounds like tires out of balance - most likely in the rears if you see that in the seat. I'd check that first. Also look for any type of uneven tire wear - it may be time for replacements.

Usually?..ish if you feel it in the seat it has something to do with tires. In the steering, something to do with the front end..ish. I'd replace the steering dampener while you're at it, get a good one $50-$70 and its a 10min job. Check the posts on them, but i'd stay away from the Joe TLC.

I forgot to mention, if you need tires, I've had no problems with the General G-max i put on last year. Put about 7 k on em so far and I've driven them hard at times. I've got a used Taurus that had a brutal shimmy at hwy speed. Turns out the previous owner let the aluminum rims get caked with dirt from gravel roads. Cleaned em out and they were fine, so could be outta balance.

The tires are definitely wearing unevenly in the rear.. I am planning to run them through this season and replace them (along with new wheels hopefully) for next spring/summer.. And steering stabilizer is definitely in the cards

What's the rest of the suspension like as far as maintenance schedule? I'm hoping to get lowering springs/shocks along with some sort of camber correction but should I be concerned about anything else under there at almost 90k miles?
