Default Radio problem

I had a dead battery on my '04 Crossfire I replaced it and now the radio does not work at all. Has anyone experienced this?

I haven't but some OEM units require a 'code' of some sort as an anti-theift measure. If you have the OEM 'Becker' unit, I would look into that. If it seems to have no power then its prob something else like a fuse?

I replaced my Becker with a nice JBL back in 04 when I got the car.

It is absolutely not powering up when you hit the button? If so, I"d try disconnectoing the battery (again, I Know) for about a minute and reconnecting it. Then try turning the radio on again. Also, look for a blown fuse in the fuse panel on the driver's side under the hood. Beware there are several fuses related to the radio - check all of them.

Or is is powering up and displaying "CHRYSLER"? This sounds like the "lock code" mentioned above. I'm totally ignorant of how to deal with this, with two cars and five years of ownership, I've never dealt with it.

I've looked at the fuses for the radio and they don't look blown but I haven't checked them with a test light yet. I've heard there is a code to unlock the radio but it's completely dead so I can't even enter it. I'll try disconnecting the battery again and checking the fuses with a test light. Thanks.

An alternative (that requires no tools beyond the radio tool) would be to slide the head out, unplug it for a minute, plug it back in and slide it back into place. THAT would reset the radio as well.

If it wanted the code, I' BELIEVE you would see "CHRYSLER" or SOMETHING displayed on power up. The code does not stop it from powering up, it stops it from WORKING once powered up.

Let your thread sit here for the day and you will get SOMEONE to stop by who knows the "lock code" problem better than I do...

IF that is the problem.

The OEM units do NOT need a code.
