Oh this darn car....
This thing is moody like a monthly visitor. Sunday I took it out , went to Houston and back and it ran great, no problems what so ever. i get back to Texas City, stop at autozone to pick up a few things and at first it didnt want to start. I tried again and it started, I noticed when i pressed the brake the traction control light lit up. My first thought was the battery. But then I tried to put it in reverse....no go. I wiggled the shifter a few times and it went into reverse and I thought well i was on an incline maybe there was some pressure against it. As I left I noticed it wouldnt leave 1st gear,in auto or manual mode.. i am glad i was close to home. I get to the house and leave it for a bit to see if it cools down if that would help...no. I tried multiple times and it was stuck in park and when I got it out it jerked when it went into reverse or drive but still no option for the manual and no engine lights showing. Monday night I bring home a scanner to check foe codes and there are none. But now it starts fine and shifts, no light when I press the brake....This B**ch is wierd....One not I did notice that the gauge that shows what gear its in was acting erratic. I sure do miss my black roadster..no issues ever with it....
Oh....And I though if it was in Limp mode it would throw a code? And you would have to have that code cleared before it would come out of limp mode, Can any one clarify? I'm just gonna do some preventative maint. and change the trans filter, fluid and the conductor plate and the plugs on the side...And the brake light switch. I can get it all for aroung 200 and maybe a battery but mine does look very very new.
Yes its an auto and thats what i was thinking. Im going to order everything from ebay, the prices are less then what i pay and I get the employee price. Go Figure. So much for working for the largest automotive retailer in the country.
