Default Throttle Body / Computer Question

I upgraded to a 74mm Throttle body today with no problems. I already had the Needswings CAI single on the car. It seems to idle smoother than it ever did, which really wasn't bad before. Overall I'd say the car feels smoother but I don't think I've driven it enough for the computer to learn the new TB. The power feels about the same or may a little less? How many miles of driving does it take for the computer to learn this new mod? I've only driven it about 30 miles since the upgrade....Thanks!

I can't say for sure yet. Everything runs smooth, idle all the way to redline. The car does feel different, not better, not worse. I've only driven the car about 60 miles since I upgraded. I think a little more time on the road is needed before I can give you an honest opinion.

I think I can answer your question now. After going out and doing several pulls in 3rd gear and just driving around for about a total of 120 miles, I can say there is a gain in power towards the top end. I smiled from ear to ear, it pulled pretty nice from 4K to redline, better than before. Yes it's worth it. I got my 74mm TB for $80 off of ebay and got the o-ring gasket from FactoryChryslerParts.com.

scot6580: Thanks for the advice...I had heard that the "increase" was more noticeable at the higher RPM... think Ill give it a go...Thanks again...Carl

Glad I could pass this on. I've read in this forum it was a good mod, and sure enough it seems like a gainer to me. I took the advice of many on here and got a new o-ring gasket, you definitely want to do that. Good Luck and have some fun!

Have you had the EuroCharged tune done yet ?
If not, then you will REALLY notice the difference with the CAI & 74mm.

No tune yet. I like to do mods one at a time so I can troubleshoot easier if something goes wrong. I am looking forward to getting the tune though, I'm sure as you say, I will notice the difference more so with my existing mods after the tune. Thanks
