Has any modified the hood to put functional scoop on it?

Steps, all I need to do to make my scoop functional is remove the inserts that sit behind the mesh covers. I chose not to for several reasons. Even though opening it up would allow some cool outside air under the hood to help alleviate heat soak, I really don't think it's necessary since I don't have a pressure cooker/supercharger to heat things up.
If I wanted to use it as a cold air introduction system, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work nearly as well as the NeedsWings CAI.
I had mine built purely for looks, and it's met and surpassed all my expectations.
If you're looking for some under hood heat removal, I'd suggest taking advantage of the high pressure area at the base of the windshield by installing a cowl induction scoop there, Something like the 1969 Camaro used. Good Luck.

To be functional you could (would) have 2 NACA ducts way on the leading edge of the hood to feed air air into the OEM airbox/engine cover.

They may look OK on a Honda but not on a Crossfire, the Jaguar ones look much better.

 

My hood is to exhaust the engine heat, the intake air is in front of the radiator. My scoops are not even noticable to the casual observer, thats good too and they are 100% functional and tested.

 

I love the looks of the Crossfires, Coups or Roadsters, they are all beautiful. That being said, Chrysler incorporated their signature hood on them; my guess to keep it connected to their line up. To me, it's the weakest part of the design. I would have preferred the multiple side curves removed with just a center ridge remaining. A hood scoop would have been better yet. I had a '70 Cuda after I got back from Nam, I would have really appreciated similar hood scoops on the Crossfire, especially the SRT6. I may pick up a used hood to play with, it's not a high priority but it has been hanging around a bit.


I've always enjoyed Fireamx's hood.

The images I referenced are of what I speak, though there many, many, many other iterations of NACA ducts.
I found Supercharged hood vents (Jaguar) on this site and they are certainly not NACA ducts.

 

Crossfires fly but not in the air, so I'm missing your point still.
