I personally haven't had very good luck with rechargeable NiMH batteries from China.

I should add that I also bought one of these boxes to remotely mount the batteries http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/21-18760

and these mids for the doors http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/54-735

These batteries have just three mounting teminals and and will need to be modified to fit the board.

I read about that in the post about rebuilding the sirens. I plan on cutting the siren open and removing the originals then mount the new ones in their own little box under the hood. I'm thinking maybe putting that box inside the RCM box.

I have a post here (click) that shows the simple mod to the battery to make it have the four terminals and fit the board.

Excellent post about the batteries. What gauge is the copper wire you used. I'm not sure what my PCB looks like yet.

I'm busy doing the SRT-6 wing fix after reading your post on sealing it up. I picked up some Duck Rope Caulk tonight at Wally World and some EPDM weather stripping.

Here's the link to the pdf tutorial for replacing the batteries which includes where to buy the correct 4-post batteries. No modding needed on these batteries.
