Default My Roadster is haunted!!

I have two issues going on with my roadster. They both could be simple fixes but I won't know until I know. First, when my top is coming to the final stages of lifting right before the lid drops and the window secures, the very front part of the top, (with the latch switch) just slams down as if it needs to be tensioned. That's problem number 1. Problem number 2 is my alarm keeps going off but only when the top is down. I put the top up, no issues.

Problem #1 is normal. Just hold your hand up. Mine will do it "sometimes".

Issue #1 is most likely one of the tension springs, or it's cable is broken.
I have no idea about the alarm condition.

Are those located in the trunk?

No, they are located in the top itself, one on either side.
Start the top down, and stop it just before it starts to fold into the trunk.
You can then dig into the top, you will find 2 reinforcing bands, and the cable/spring combinations.

Check your cables, if they are good don't worry.

I've learned to "catch" the roof before it hits the windshield frame.
Thanks for that, guys!

That makes it harder to pull down and will result in an inadvertent "slam" if I don't support it with my free hand.

Then, using two hands, use the right to turn the handle 90 degrees. Use the left to slowly ease the front down to touch (don't slam it) and turn the handle to lock.
It SHOULD be that easy-if it isn't, there might be a problem.

use your free hand to control the descent of the top so it does not bang on the windshield frame. I've been doing that for 10 years.
