Default Dash lit ups with lights

Hi all,

Need some help here as I tried following the throttle reset instructions and now my dash is lit up with the following lights brake light appears along with check engine , brake wear , abs , bas esp , and speedometer / odometer stops working as well as the Spoiler is up with red light blinking on the switch. I have read up and tried steering wheel reset, cleaning all grounds as well as replacing the battery with nothing working. When we look for codes it is P0600 but I cannot find any good suggestions as to what would be causing the code. Any help would be appreciated.
This is for a 2005 Limited , N/A with 6 speed.

Thanks

Measure with a voltmeter from the battery positive terminal to any good clean place on the engine.
With the switch off, you should see at LEAST 12.1 volts.
Keep measuring and have someone take the key to start.
What is the reading ?

Hi,

12.4 and 14.3. I now realize my odometer and cruise are not working as well.

I would suspect one or more wheel speed sensors has gone on vacation.
Most of the symptoms you mention are based on the perceived vehicle speed.

Except for the speedo thingy, the other symptoms are the same as if the traction control relay in the RCM is bad.
You can open the RCM and see if that relay is closed or not.

After three shops finally got my answer that it was the relay that feeds the ABS system.

Anyone know where this relay is located and whether it can be easily be replaced by me? I have also sent a PM to coachscott that started this thread. I'm having all the exact same problems as he was.

Thanks for the reply. I'll send you an email. I want to take a look under the hood tomorrow and see what you show in the pictures.

Angry Re: Dash lit ups with lights

I too am having the same problem, pulled the RCM AND RE=SOLDERED the same connection that are shown in the photos, The car started , lights went out and wing went down, Tried this three times and all worked great. Returned this morning, no start, all lights lit, wing back up, 12.65 volts. When key is turned there is a click, sounds like it is going to start, for a millisecond, sounds like it is coming from under engine cover. Radio works. ANY IDEAS Hope( tighed1) is reading as I sent an e-mail his way and would be real happy if I can mail this RCM for repair if suspected to be the culprit.

Sent it to, tighed1@hotmail.com.yesterday, just checked my sent and it isn,t there, sorry. As you can see my problem from the above post my RCM, i think. Tried it again this am and started with the dash lights remaining on and wing in up position. Turned off and tried to restart, no luck. Waited about 15 minutes, started with all the symptions. If this still points to the RCM, I would like to mail it to you for repair.
e-mail is <tsdaniel@nc.rr.com>

I sent my RCM to D.J. for repair. Less than a week later I got it back. Not a bad turnaround from North Carolina to Arizona and back. He said he replaced the air pump and traction control (ABS) relays.
I hope I don't jinx myself, but it seems to have fixed my problem. I've test driven the car for about 15 miles and gone thru three or four stop/start cycles. I have no warning lights on the dash, spoiler works again as it should and the speedometer & odometer are working. Hope it stays that way.
Thanks again D.J.

Received my refurbished RCM back from(tighed1) today, installed it, and car started right up, all dash lights went out, wing retracted, and horney mod worked. Hopefully no more problems for awhile
Thanks for the concerns and posts.
