Hi Guys,

I don't post here much so I hope I am in the correct section

I have an ongoing project I figures some of you would be interested in. I figured I would post what I have so far to get some feedback and maybe inspire some other people

I am currently in the process of installing a Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 inch tablet into my crossfire center console. As of right now everything is kind of pieced together and I am in the process of actually installing it into the car. I definitely plan to post pictures of the install process and final result. I gutted the tablet battery out and installed a 10 amp 3.7V DC/DC converter in its place. I have been stress testing the DC/DC converter for about a week now and it looks promising.

Along with the 3.7V DC/DC converter, I also have a 5V 30 amp DC/DC and a constant 12V out DC/DC converter to power all the other electronics that I will get into a little later as well as have a hefty cell phone charger

The 5V DC/DC converter will power the following
-USB hub for the tablet
2 - Arduinos (and maybe more in the future) depending on what my needs are
1 - 5 port portable Ethernet hub
About 500 neopixles - I am also in the progress of converting my headlight LED's I currently have installed to neopixels so I can program them to do whatever I want. This will be a story for another day (sample picture below)




There are also RGBW led's behind the projectors housings so I can get creative on holidays


The 12V DC/DC converter takes 8-40V in and keeps a constant 12VDC at 10 amps so I can drive all of the COB LED's that I have throughout the car and not have to worry about flickering/dimming/burning out due to voltage fluctuation.

As you all know, there is not a lot of room to fit a 10 inch tablet into the dash. In order to do this, I am going to make some sacrifices (sort of). I am completely taking the buttons out and I am replacing them by an android application I made that interfaces with the Arduino boards. It is not complete yet but you can see the progress so far in the video below.



I am using the OTG port on the tablet to go to a massive powered USB hub. The usb hub will have the following connected
Ethernet adapter - to communicate with the arduinos and whatever else I plan to add
RTL-SDR - for general radio reception
2 Joycon modules (one mainly for sensing the lights and power, the other one for future media buttons I plan to add. Yes I know two may be a little excessive)
port for charging and interfacing with my cell phone
External SSD since I do not have a micro SD slot anymore
Dragonfly DAC for audio output
and possibly more but I cant think of it right now

I have also added a stand alone WiFi module that plugs directly into the Ethernet hub This reaches out to a pre-defined network and connects. I plan to have this connect to my home WiFi automatically so I can do updates from inside.

In order to make the audio output work properly, I have modified the amplifier and separated the sub channels from the front channels. From here, I added a 7 band equalizer that has an optional auxiliary input for my SiriusXM. I plan to have this auxiliary

switch to be controlled through the tablet UI as well

Let me know if you guys are interested in updates as I go on and I will definitely post them. I have a ways to go but I wan to make sure it is done in a way to where the final product will look exactly the way I want it to.

PS - Here is a sample of the side project I am working on for my headlights. The LED's will be full brightness during the day and dim down to 50% at night since they are blinding. When I turn, the light will dim down to about 10% and the amber will scroll as shown in the video. I plan to make everything completely configurable
