Re: finally ... stripes!
i played with the fender stripes idea a while ago, https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6068, but i couldn't get it to look as good as it did on the Miata, and i liked the way this turned out much better.

Ya, actually I had a couple different versions. I wanted to add some depth to the car. The Crossfire's lines are already so very classy, and bold. The car seems like it wants to stretch from front to back, so I wanted to give it a center. What I mean is, the car seems like the line all want to flare out. So with everything wanting to push out, I wanted to bring a look that brings you to the center of the car. The heart if you will I still have a few more idea's, next time I'll take pictures of all my mock-up's.
Oh ya, the answer is yes as far as the different sized mesh. I liked the Honey Comb look, There are about 10 different mesh patterns that can be done. As well as Brushed, polished, or even painted.

Don't want to see what is behind your grille???
Use black fiberglass window screen material. Cut it and attach it behind the grille opening with monofilament fishing line. All you will see is black and the bugs won't stick in your radiator fins either because they never get that far!!!
I started doing that years ago with Street Rods that had exposed Radiator Fins.

Here's a link for the mesh: http://www.autodirectsave.com/MeshGrille.asp Scroll down the page a little to see the stainless. If you don't want to see anything behind the grill, use two layers and offset slightly so that the layer behind fills the gap in the front layer. Looks very nice.
