FSS is set to 3,500 miles instead of 7,000 miles
I'm resetting my FSS for the first time since owning my car. I have a printout of the procedure to reset it however when I did so it is set to 3500. I thought it was to default to 7000 miles? Is this somehow changeable? Can anyone explain to me why it did not reset to 7000 miles?

That is strange, I didn't know that was changeable, i would like to know
It should always change to 7000 miles and I have never seen this or heard this said by anyone here over the past 12 years
.
A GUESS, it might have been altered in the vehicle computer for a specific duty or geographical area, within the original Chrysler STAR (and assorted) computer diagnostics equipment. Just think, if it triggers earlier it might also be a maintenance tool for service departments to generate more monies. Anyway, it is JUST A GUESS from one who would not put it past anyone capable of adjusting things like this, afterwards.
