Hello GuruQKF7Z, A CarGurus user (eeman) answered a question you are following: "Car will not start - All instrument lights work on dash, radio ".
They wrote: "My 2004 Crossfire SKREEM Module failed about a week ago. I replaced the SKREEM module in September 2018 and should have sold the car at that point. I called "Mobile Diagnostics and Programming LLC" in Florida just now. They are no longer doing the re- programming of the modules. They sold their last 2 modules the past few days and have no source for other ones. It does not look like "Needs Wings" is selling these modules either. Am hoping someone has some idea where I could find a new module or I am going to have to scrap a car which is otherwise running great"

Does anyone know anything about this? A troubling development, if true. FYI, my yellow roadster is still running perfectly thanks to the repair done by MDP.
wolfstalker,
I'm unclear who wrote this and whom you received the email from
CarGurus has a way to list the cars you own or are interested in and they sent it to me. I see that MDP is out of the game, but there is another one listed that does something with eliminating the immobilizer function in your ECM or one they swap for you. Obviously, the peril increases and the tension grows if a SKREEM failure can kill your car and the repair options diminish. I contacted FCA again today and sent them some items from the Forum, but I doubt it is going to remove anything. I had my SKREEM repaired by MDP, and it functions flawlessly, but if it should fail again, then what happens? Of course, the car and that module functioned as designed for about 13 years, so its reasonable to assume it will keep functioning. But this situation reminds me of what Stalin said: "The more you know the less you sleep."
I just had my skreem deleted by Precision ECU in Chicago (773-800-0041). Sent my ECU and Skreem in on Friday received it back today (Wednesday), Installed and started right up. Doesn't even need the skreem installed unless you want your fob to work unlocking doors. My fob didn't work anyway so doesn't bother me. Total cost was $461 with tax. They advertise on ebay, I am very satisfied!
Thank you this is momentous for for this group. If your skreem fails just sent it and the ecu to these guys and you now how a running car with 90% of the fatal problems solved.

Just an FYI, the SKREEM was not actually deleted. It was just repaired and then soldered inside the ECU with a coil and transponder. It will start your car now but but it won’t keep the issue from reoccurring in the future.
If you disable the security to some degree that allows the car to be stolen easily and the insurance company finds out about the mod somehow, then I am sure you will find that the insurance is void. They only need one excuse to avoid any payout.
The only monies you may receive will be for the existing time left on your policy less office costs.
In short I highly recommend you take your business somewhere other than Precision_ECU. First off when you go to the web site, they advertise their telephone number in several different spots and they encourage you to call them if you have any problems. That part is a SCAM, because I was told by Andy Grycuk (CEO), at least that was what is listed in his emails, told me point blank "We neither accept incoming, nor make any outgoing customer telephone calls.
On the masthead of their website it reads:
"We not always can pick up the phone. Please text us instead 773-800-0041".
Now, the grammar of that statement notwithstanding, it does not suggest a professional atmosphere.
In my dealings with Mr. Grycuk, I had many issues with their service over a two week period. All of those issues I had to deal with in an email environment and even when I explained to him in detail what my issues were, I didn't get the sense he wanted to deal with me and also I'd like to add to this that you had to pay for the service upfront, before the service was performed. Again I got the impression that "We have your money, too bad", was the tone of the responses I was receiving.
In short the service Precision ECU provides is to alter the ignition codes for any Mercedes or Chrysler product. My issue was that my SKREEM unit had lost its ignition security information it feeds to the ECU of the car to tell it to start. Mr. Grycuk assured me they could reprogram both units to solve the issue. When I received both units back, and I installed them back into my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire (Half German/Half Chrysler built car), the car was completely dead. I took it to a qualified Mercedes technician who told me both units were completely dead and it set off alarms on his brand new state of the art Snap-On programmer. Again, basically I was told this has to be a scam, because Mercedes DOES NOT allow anyone outside the company who is not certified to have the security codes. In the end the services he performed on my equipment did not work. Again when I tried to contact them and communicate my problems, I got a one sentence response, ultimately, telling me that if I wanted to send my equipment back to them (At my expense of course) they would reverse the services they performed and then initiate a refund. I was advised by qualified experts to not send anything back to this company, hence I am out $400.00.
