SRT6 front bumper, on an '04
i finally did it! just finished installing my new bumper; i'm very happy with it. it has the slightest color difference, which i'm hoping will blend in over the next coupe of months...
damn front plate is still a pain, but i tried something new. i created a bracket that hangs under the lower grille and mounted the plate offset. i think it might be a bit high, but i still like it better than the old way. plus if i ever want to remove it, there's no visible holes.
total job: less than 2 hours, not including license plate bracket fabrication. unbolt the original bumper, swap over the guts (crash foam, fog light housings, lower grills, etc.), and reinstall.
sorry for such dreary pics; the weather has been crappy on Long Island the past few days. i'll take better ones once she's washed.

Bumper looks great. Fine job! You're right, the plate is a bash in the eye. Shame they are that large. I'm glad ours are less than a half.
But your solution is good looking.
congrats!

I've been contemplating this. How difficult is the uninstall process and when you bolt everything back up do you think things are "looser" or "out of whack"? That looks awesome! Very aggressive looking.
Why don't you just take the plate off? In CT we also have to have front plates but I have never put one on in 25 years and have never been bothered by one cop about it. They have better things to do. take it off and just drive. I doubt you will be bothered unless you drive like an idiot. LOL
Thanks man.
Please also, what was your full costs?

its easier to use pictures than it is to describe the bolt locations. so see attached.
nothing feels loose or out of whack at all; its a Chrysler part, so it fits perfectly.
total bill at my buddies shop was $460. $260 bumper + $200 paint.

NXMX5,
Great Job...Wish I still lived on Long Island and could see it close up and personal. I am now entertaining the same idea.

Nice job! A well spent $460 bucks for looks. Nice upgrade! Just don't do the wing!
I would remake the license plate holder and put it in center! Since you have stamps on rear only, I'd cut it down top & bottom. Just barely showing the #s and letters!

NXMX5, where did you buy your srt6 bumper? I bought mine from a dealership nearby last week and they quoted me for $289.00 plus tax $23.85 totaling to $312.85.
Did they just had a price increase or is the price dependent on the Euro exchange rate?

According to the body shop that painted mine, the cost to them is only $282. They said they would make 7, if they bought mine. Not sure if they were telling the truth, but my price was $289 + tax. A new non SRT is $320... The dealer didn't understand why?
I finally got my new bumper painted for $272 and I am just waiting for it to be installed. Hopefully by the end of the week it'll be installed already. I'm just gonna do it slowly in my spare time and will post pics once its done. I'm real excited about it!
By the way, thanks NXMX5 for your install pics and instructions. Yeah, I will gladly take nice pics on it once it's done! Also, I might need an invisible bra for it too, since my XFIREX is already lowered! Is the invisible bra for the SRT-6 available already?
Actually the SRT-6 badge matches the blaze more than any color because there's RED on it! It's actually an SRT-6 blaze now with the badge in my P side rear end! It goes well with my new emblems thanks to Dan!
