Default SRS Light / B48 Code / SRS Emulator? / Last light for the night!

So I picked up a 2005 XF Limited Coupe about a week ago and have been working on getting all the "Christmas" Tree lights off on the dash. Tackled the Tire Sensor mod on Sunday and now I am down to the single SRS light. Bought a Code Reader (Launch CPR123) and pulled the code Child Seat Occupation Sensor B48. All our kids are grown and I dont chase younger women much anymore so I was thinking I would buy a Seat Mat Occupancy Bypass For MERCEDES BENZ Passenger Airbag Sensor Pad Emulator that I found on flea bay coming out of Ireland. I really want this last light off on the dash so any help with this would be appreciated. Starting to run low on funds and I cant do the black tape fix, sorry. I am sure I am not the only person on here that has this issue but when I search I come up with nothing. Can someone tell me what they did and what unit they bought? I see them for 5 to 50 bucks.

BTW, the air bag system passenger seat occupant simulator is located right next to the power amplifier in the foot well. Water in that location could get into the module connectors and corrode them or even damage the module. That could be causing your problem. You should check to see if there is any corrosion damage. As far as modules go they are pretty cheap on ebay. Diagnostic testing procedures are in the service manual. The document section of the forum has a link to download it if required.

I turned the airbag on and off but the light by the ashtray never went off which is more reason to break out the service manual. I did see that but now I am thinking I did not have water damage to anything because the new amp I installed today did nothing to improve my stereo so I am sending it back and starting over. If I unplug the plugs to the abs unit will it cause any issues that my launch CPS123 scanner cant correct? I do have the link to the service manual but have yet had time to use it, I guess its time now.

Just be VERY careful with these airbags, do NOT plug or unplug one without first disconnecting the negative battery cable.

TOOLMAN had mentioned that the air bag system passenger seat occupant simulator is on the same board as the amp and that it could be the issue that is keeping my SRS light on. I found a used one on flea bay for 20 bucks, I guess it is worth a try. I dont know what I am doing at this point but thanks for the reminder. I will unhook the Neg lead before messing with it. I really just wanted the emulator so the light would go off but I am not seeing the plug they are talking about as of yet.

Right . . .!! I had purchased a CPR123 to get the code and with the forum help had already purchased the air bag system passenger seat occupant simulator from ebay (throw parts at it when you cant figure the service manual out) only to find out that this morning after the time when you turn the key on it went off.!! Not sure what I did but I take that as a win any day. Good Times Indeed . GG in TN
