Default Clock Spring and Steering wheel issues

Hello, I took car, 2004 crossfire, base model in for clock spring replacement for turn signal and horn repair, however, the repair didn't happen because the bolts for steering wheel are stripped (don't know when or where it happened) and mechanics say they can't remove them without damage to screws and possible airbag deploying. One recommended replacing entire steering column but I don't want. I want to find and replace steering wheel with airbag and screws. Has anyone had this issue and have any suggestions?

You mean, to remove the airbag? IIRC, there are no screws.

No, they couldn't take steering wheel off to get to clock spring repair because of two screws located under steering wheel which the bolts are stripped. They should be star shaped but one is rounded and other is partially rounded.

This has happened before when someone used an undersized insert in the screw head, it is a T-30. Other sizes fit but are sloppy and destroy the socket head.
It is possible that the mechanic who was on the job did it. The air bag will not deploy if the battery is disconnected. You MUST disconnect the battery or you will have the airbag light come on when the air bag is disconnected. A T-30 insert might still manage to undo the bolts.
