V8 or turbo
If you had the choice would you choose to swap in a hemi or turbo the existing engine? I'm getting kind of bored with the power available to us and am ready to start saving up for my next project. Any ideas?
Here is some more info from those who want turbo...

For me, it would be a hard decision. A big engine is sweet, but the gas consumption would not be too good. The added weight over the front wheels will also negatively affect handling. A twin turbo set-up sounds sweet, but after speaking to some people, I might loose the Crossfire's unique acceleration attributes for high-end horsepower. Now, Startech was able to stuff a 6.1 liter bored and stroked S500 engine into the Crossfire, so putting the SRT-8's 6.1 liter V-8 may be feasible, for a lower cost. But as always, if you upgrade the engine significantly, than you should also upgrade drivetrain parts such as clutch, driveshaft, and tranny. All in all, you need to shell out a large sum of money to make it all work!

Well...you asked for ideas... :-)
you are talking about some serious cash, like 20k if you can fab stuff yourself.
p.s. i'll bet anyone a million bucks that this "project" doesn't get done. no offense i have heard this about 20 times on here and nothing has ever happened.

x'ed: I know that I have mentioned this for myself, but I was never planning on doing it done soon. If I do decide to go ahead with a significant upgrade, than it would happen in a couple of YEARS because I don't have extra money on the side to waste. But planning ahead is my motivation behind constantly mentioning upgrading the engine.

I'm also going to agree about this not getting done. But it never hurts to look ahead should some money fall my way. But at least we get some kind of talking on this forum. And its a good topic in case anyone more serious may look to it for some advice. If I had extra money I would seriously do it, but being in college and all extra money is hard to come by.
And about the dimensions I was looking for more like the measurements of the outside to see how it compares to the hemi. This project would probably be more trouble then its worth, but if anyone is looking for serious power an engine swap or a turbo is the way to go.

Only real trouble would be finding such a wrecked car but when I've seen complete E55, SL55 engines on eBay...some S/C 3.2 liter motors should also be floating out there somewhere.
I was thinking the same thing. but if aftermarket rods and pistons are available it may be cheaper to take a base 3.2 block and bump up the displacement, with some forged stuff and have an even better base to start a project on. This would all be so much different if we all had extra money to throw around instead of speculate, but then we wouldn't be driving crossfires if we did.

For the most part everything should be a plug and play setup.
