Default whine

My 04 has developed a whine when I've drove for awhile. It sounds like a supercharger whine. I first thought it was the water pump. I changed it good thing i did the bearings where shot on it. But now i have it narrowed down to the back of the engine. I checked transmission fluid its fine it shifts fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well I found it. It started slipping and won't shift out of first. Transmission shop told me to drop the pan and change filter.

Called transmission shop. They told me to change the filter. I pulled the pan and there was paint chips floating. I sanded all the paint from the pan put new filter on. It's been running great every since.
