Wink STS turbo **update**

Pete

I will see what I can go about a kit for your car and the 6 or 7 other people interested. Since there are several of you interested. I am going to work with STS directly about producing a kit for your car. That will bring the cost down. Compared to me doing a custom kit for the cars. After I discuss it with them, I will get back with you on a time frame for the availability of the kit. If it looks to be lengthy time frame. I will look at your car and see what I can do to customize all the cars for a reasonable price. I will be back in touch with you in the next few days.

Thanks

Kevin Lucas

That message is from a local STS dealer here in Alabama. I have seen his work on trucks and LS1's and the guy does a good job! Very clean set up > especially if you want to keep the "stock" look. I personally want a very clean set up that makes some power! The price should be in the 7k ball park. We shall see....

i think 7k is alot still! the kit on the website for the twin turbo c5 corvette is only 7k with two turbos ect... and the viper truck is around 8-ish i think about $4,500 to 5k would be a good price. at the most 5k like the GTO. i mean the turbos ain't that expensive about $1,200 for a good one like the t4 or t3. piping, pump, ect, i guess the tuning is expensive and well we do have crossfires so bump up the price because we can afford it huh! my friend has one of the nine series porshas and his body kit is about 5k i guess they figured if you have a nice car you'll pay alot. lol!

its more of a one off type of things than those kits are though, r and d and what not have to be paid for. if they make alot it would be alot cheaper probably...

Hey guys... easy now... What are the options ? None to this point, so let's see what pans out... $ to HP ratio... If we can get a kit for 7k instead of 9.5k that delivers the same 330 HP!!!

Good job, keep us posted, I have the money sitting under my mattress LOL...

As my mechanic always says, HP cost money, how fast do you want to go?

that's what i'm saying, i hope people don't start bit*hing about 7k, thats a relative bargain, especially since its turbo, sky is the limit till you blow your motor with turbos. intercoolers, intercooler sprayers, dp's all make huge numbers once the turbo is on that bad boy, especially a v6...

7k is a lot > but like I said that is a ball park figure. I will not let this thread die!!! I want more hp and will not give up and will not pay 9k for it either. Who knows it might be a lot cheaper than that. But like x'ed said > R&D costs money and how many crossfires are going to upgrade > now how many vettes and Camaros...Demand brings down cost as volume takes care of the rest. A turbo will bring a lot more to the table then a roots style blower will as well. More power at lower RPMs.

This thread was not intended to make all happy > sorry...

well he did say he was working on the engine, so i'm guessing he's building it to hold the 70. i would of rather just did a t3 t4 or something for now then upgraded!

Keep us posted... I'm working on some other things that will augment the TC... Larger injectors, billet fuel rails, larger bore throttle body...

I spoke to my guy down here. He said that STS is working on a system and it would be out summer of next year. If someone wants it sooner > they would have to be willing to be out of there car for as long as it would take to custom fit a system. He didn't give a rough price range, so I have asked if he would. I really want a turbo...the need for boost is like a bad itch!!!

X'ed: I think we can get DC to provide a test bed vehicle to any of the aftermarket manufacturers that are really serious about developing product for the Crossfire. I have been in contact with nearly all the DC Crossfire engineers for the past few months regarding the SCCA Spec. and could ask them to provide a car to STS for fitment.

Let me see what I can do after the beginning of the year...
