Default Engine temp?

What does your temp read on your gauge? I have seen it going up to the line past the middle? I have taken my crossfire in for the recall on the fan problem and it is still reading that high. Heck it hasn't been over 80* yet?? Is this the norm?

My gauge stays just below center, but I haven't taken it in for the recall yet. Have never had it get above center even in heavy traffic here in FL heat.

Mine after the fan replacement goes a little above the center line when sitting in traffic and a little below the line while running. Yeah it's normal. Also my Benz tends to ride a bit higher of the center line than my XFire and its fine too, just make sure that your warning lamp for coolant temp doesn't come on. Once it does just kill the engine quickly.

BEFORE and AFTER I HAD MY RECALL DONE on "Radiator Hose" (not fan) IN NOV '05... my XF as well... runs a tad above the centerline on the temp gauge... especially after a SPIRITED ride, but immediately recoups back to centerline... within a minute.

At the time HDDP convinced me that all XF gauges will not read alike due to the calibration... hence different readings for us all... (as a rule).
