Default Heated Seats how to

The seat cushion heater on the drivers side is not working and I'd like to see if I can fix it myself. does anyone know how to fix the seat cushion heater. The back cushion is fine and works as well as both heaters on the Passenger side.

Thanks for the help.

Cool Re: Heated Seats how to

Do a search many of us have had this issue. there are 2 different fixes for the seats. In some case it is the control unit for the heated seats or the heating element and in some cases it is both. The dealer will also have the option of either replacing your seats and control units or stripping your seat covers and replacing the elements. The latter is a crap shoot...you have to hope that the Tech replaces the covers correctly. Many members here have had bad experiences with their seat cover being removed and reinstalled. I would take your car to the dealer and have them locate the problem, since it is covered under warranty and then make a decision.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I have an '04, and so it is no longer covered under the warranty...so i am not exactly looking forward to seeing how much that costs. Any clue as to how much this can run you at the dealership...

PS: I live it toronto, so, not sure if there is a big difference in price between US/Canadian dealerships.

My dealer replaced both seat backs and bottoms and both switches at a cost of $5,386.00 to DChrysler.

Wow, that's a lot of moola just to keep your *** warm... I would have left them broken and taken the money, signed a waiver to have it not fixed.

I'd have to agree with Cudaman.

There is a repair kit available for the Seat Bottom problem. The parts were about $60. plus labor to repair. They would not let me see the kit, but the description sounds like they hot melt glue a connection back onto the heater. This fixed my issue on my drivers seat.
I can look for my invoice and get the part number if you want it.

Mine was in last week for exactly the same problem - *** broken, back OK.
I think the dealer just replaced a wiring loom, and I think the price was about $26.
