Default New to Crossfire and Forum...

So, I just bought 2004 Crossfire in great condition. I have some questions though, and I thought you all could help:

1. I am the second owner, so I do have the powertrain warrantee. Are recall issues and TSB's still covered?
2. If so, do I just take it to the dealer and have them done?
3. If not, do I have to pay for something to be fixed if it is part of a TSB not corrected already?
4. Why is the oil change so expensive, oil or the filter? Is the filter special or can I buy a fram...?
5. My trunk slams down, as if the shock absorber does not work, but it will keep it up. Is there a replacement part for it?
6. Lastly, tires...can I go to 255/40/19 in the back without a problem?

Thanks, great forum here. I have already learned a lot from here and am enjoying my new car already.

recall issues are covered, and tsbs are not covered.

Check with your nearest Chrysler dealer. Ask the service writers to run a VIP report. This report will tell you the complete Chrysler history on your Crossfire. It will tell you what recall have been performed and which, if any, are outstanding. It will also tell you the status of any warranty left on the vehicle as well as whether there is a charge from Chrysler for transferring the 7/70 powertrain warranty.
You will also have a complete history of anything done to the car at a Chrysler dealer.

Where would I find a list of the recalls?

Thanks again for the help.

Welcome to the forum!

My understanding is that the Chrysler 7/70 powertrain warranty is transferable one time from the 1st to the 2nd owner for a $150 transfer fee. Since I purchased my one owner '04 from a local Chrysler dealer, I was told that they would handle the transfer, but I plan to follow up with them to be sure.

In my car I found a green owner transfer card with the owners manual where you can notify Chrysler that you are the new owner. You might want to fill it out, and possibly call Chrysler to arrange to transfer the warranty if you are interested.

Nothing new to add just:
Welcome to the forum!
Oil changes are expensive because we use 8 1/2 qts.of Mobil 1 0-40 oil. I used a fram in my '04 but now chrysler recommends you use a fleece type filter.
