My next car WILL be a Crossfire! (HELP!!)
Ok...so I don't have one yet...But I drove one last weekend and was HOOKED!
I currently have a cherry white five-speed 1988 Fiero GT...loaded, leather, 90,000km...(see link if you're interested) and NO I didn't join the forum to SELL my car!!

I have driven Fieros since '89 and love the little devils...my current Fiero qualifies for collector car status due to it's rarity and condition...
However, after driving a 2005 Crossfire six-speed coupe...I WANT ONE...and there is only so much room in my garage..!
What should I be looking for in a 2005 six-speed? The only negatives I've heard are a bit of a rust problem under the doorsills...They sound pretty reliable...
I'd love a black one...although white and RED are possibilities...And how about that funky RED leather interior...Did it make it into production? I WANT that, if so!
Thanks for any help in advance and I look forward to both being a Crossfire driver and a member of this forum!

Wow! I used to have a white Fiero GT just like that. I put over 150,000 miles on it. What a fun car!
Good luck with your search for a Xfire.

that's cool, I ran into a limo driver the other night while working security @ an eating place...he...showed me his club's album of Fiero's...there are some really nice body kits, motor conversions going on out there. I thought they were dead....good luck on your xf hunt, but I think I would keep the Fiero...they are making a comeback out there....
My oldest son had an 86 fiero with a 5 speed. He drove it for a about 6 months & then I built a 350 small block putting out around 400 hp. He broke several axels on it so we sold it. To Much horshpower. I now have a 2005 6 speed limited & there is no comparing the 2 cars. the crossfire has it all over the fiero. Comfort & power is so much better. They are worlds apart. Go for it & don't look back

If you like black Crossfires, you might be able to save a lot of money by finding a "Base" car. Essentially the same car with out all the extras.
The "funky" red leather interior is called cedar/slate, and is available in black, alabaster, ssb, charcoal, gold, and I think silver Limiteds. We love it in our 2004.
The door rust problem is no biggie and something you can take care of in your own garage as long as you can hold a paint brush.
There are lots of deals out there, so good hunting.
I have that "funky" red (Cedar) interior, in my graphte 05 roadster - pictures in my gallery. Have had the car about a year - even with the price of gas today - will still go out and JUST DRIVE!
Esellent,
Highly recommend that you look into Steve White Motors in Hickory NC.
They wil deliver FREE east of the Mississipi. make sure you tell them you want it trailered as they will do it. I founf them on Ebay. Look at their web site and Ebay. Several say best offer.
They have 12 new 2006/07 coupes and two roadsters for a great price. Full warranty and can purchase an extended warranties. The coupes are limited's and they have black and red. You should be able to do well on a coupe.
Ask for Mike Taylor and tell him Paul from Mount Airy, MD sent you. Just gave me a great deal on a loaded 06 roadster. I get nothing for the referral

Before you buy, try an SRT6.
While the deployable wing really charmed me, I had to go with I had to go with the supercharged version once I had tried it; too many grins per mile.

The door sills are a problem, but easily repairable....

welcome and good luck on your hunt. I have also owned 6 different FIEROs and have always loved the only 2 seat mid-engine sports car made in AMERICA. My 17 year old son currently drives a 1988 FORMULA, burgandy with grey leather. Car has 160000+ (30000 on new engine, cluth,cv axles etc...). so anyway hello and welcome.
Being in Toronto, you'll be one of the very few Crossfires on the road. I know every time I drive through Toronto or the surrounding areas (Oakville or Brampton), everyone stares at my car.
Seems strange to me since I live in Detroit......we have them running all over the place here.
