It is an on going project and needs updating when a link goes dead on it. It's the little thread that grew. This thread started April 25 2011 and the 'What did you do to your Crossfire today' thread started April 1 2011 and have 55,000 plus hits each. Not too shabby.:) |
Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
Couple of typos in this thread,
Solutions for P401 air pump malfunction code. should be Solutions for P0410 air pump malfunction code. and Rekah's Sticky ignition should be Rekcah's Sticky ignition Also Updated the sticky ignition fix to v4 attached in post 429 of the that thread. Link below. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post681520 Thanks onehundred80 for starting/keeping this list updated. |

2004 xfire heated seats
Hello can anyone help me? I have just purchased a 2004 crosswise and unfortunately I didn't notice that both the heated seats don't work. Both the switches illuminate and switch themselves of after the heater time is up. Fuses are ok.

Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
Hi there, Anyone have any info on how to replace wheel bearings please as I can't find anything in this section. Many thanks.
|
Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
According to the service manual, the front bearings are traditional taper bearings.
The rear bearings however are roller bearings and require Special Tools for replacement. see the this post : https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ools-sale.html |
Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
Many thanks. It's the fronts that need replacing.

It's not too hard of a job. Just messy with all bearing grease. There's an inner and outer bearing. Make sure to get, if i remember correctly, inner bearing seal. I didn't know if didn't come with the kit I ordered, so had to make another trip to the auto parts store. I did this about 2-3 yrs ago, so from memory: Jack up car, remove wheel, remove a little bit of brake fluid from reservoir, depress caliper piston, remove caliper and hang securely out of the way, using pull hammer with claw attachment remove the, i think it's called the hub cover. use allen wrench to loosen the nut, then use wrench to remove the nut. Take note of the orientation of the bearings. The outer bearing should just pop out when you pull the rotor off. Use punch or big long screwdriver and hammer to punch out the inner bearing from the opposite side or use the pull hammer with attachment to pull out the inner bearing. You'll notice the seal that comes off with the inner bearing is not reusable. Make sure to clean out all the old grease. Then pack the new bearings in bearing grease. Now reverse the process. To get the inner bearing/seal to seat, light taps with hammer going around evenly. remember to pump the brake pedal and top off the brake fluid reservoir with fresh fluid. I think that sums it up. |

Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
I'm sure this is an easy one but I don't have a manual. If the Crossie needs to be towed is there a button on the console that has to be activated or deactivated before towing? Or is that button I see on the console for anti theft? When I lock the car, the red light flashes, as it should...but is this the same switch I'm talking about re towing? thanks for any help!!

Re: Index of Crossfire problems and repairs
The towing button is used when the car is going to be towed, if the car is raised an alarm will go off.
