Just purchased oem radio with gps. Where do I put the gps antena?

 

Put it in a box and mail it to me, I could use one.

But seriously, I'd first try center of the dash up by the windshield with some velcro or double-sided tape.
My Garmin Nuvi gets fine reception mounted on the center of the windshield ........

 

There is a location inside the dash above the heater vents that is localized by a page where the antenna should locate. I got one included inside my owners package when I bought my car. The install kit should have that page if you bought the radio (antenna should also be in that kit). I can look for that page but I have no idea how to get you a copy of the page. It installs way up inside the dash about center of the vehicle. Did you try the service manuals for the location?

This is the OEM unit we are discussing here, they are hidden from view if done correctly.

Many thanks for the most helpful information!!! I now have another problem. The radio antena will not work with the gps head unit. Both head units were made in 04 but my antenna wire has a plug on the end. The gps head unit will not accept the plug

 

You need an adapter for this.
Actually two adapters, One end of one adapter is in the right hand below.


The other end of that one adapter is in the left hand below, it is about10" long. The second adapter is in the right hand below.

This may be the part number for the part that replaces the two adapters, Becker number 1215.663.
I have included the two wires required for car made in 2005 and up.

The Becker part #s for the wires are 5002.607 (gray/blue) and 5002.608 (gray/red). The part number for the AM/FM antenna adapter is 1215.663.

The OEM Nav antenna is a Wisi. CrossfireForum.org

I hope that was a hired hand model. I would never trust the car advice of someone with fingernails that clean.
