Default High Pitch noise comming from Glove box area

I have had this 2005 Roadster for about a year and have had no problems with it. Have about 64000 miles. About a month ago I started getting a high pitched tone comming from the glove box area. This only happens when decellerating or when in park I rev the engine then the noise starts when I take my foot off the gas then it quits at about 500rpm. Any Ideas

Check the fan inside the box by the battery where the RCM is .......
( it exhausts just below the glove box into the passenger side footwell
to keep the amp and TCM cool )
Or it could also be the blower fan .....

HEy i have the same issue you have right now, been trying to figure out a solution for the past 2 weeks and have read many threads on here that did not give a clear solution. Mine may be coming from a different part, however my noise is coming from the actuator the opens and closes the recirculation door from the outside, the noise only comes on when the door is closed and pressure in the vaccum lines is keeping the door closed. I have gone to the dealership in my area and the part in $50 and even cheaper if you buy it from the mercedes dealer and just explain what part you need and a picture that i had the dealer print off for me. Many people said they have fixed the issue just by tweaking the vacum lines going to the actuator from the recirculation air switchover valve i have a pic that another member posted :

The arrow points to the part that is the culprit of the noise, this is all behind the passenger compartment just FYI. I cannot figure out how to remove this actuator at all, if anybody has any information please let us know thanks. I also have the part numbers from the dealer for the part as well that i will post later - Tim

Yes I've looked into the service manual, and there's no description on how to remove the part that the arrow in the picture is pointing too, its the actuator for the redirculation door to open and close it

I have given up on trying to take the actuator out to replace it. Looks to me like the dashboard would have to be removed. Easy soloution was to disconnect the vaccum line from the switdh--noise is gone.
I live in Georgia and only drive it with the top down anyways

Yea i removed the dashboard pad cover overtop everything and you still cant get to the part, there is a metal frame that runs over top the actuator , looks like the whole HVAC system must drop down somehow, and that is the only way to get to the part :/ anybody have any info on how this is done please let me know thanks
