Re: HOW-TO: Disable the Seatbelt Warning Chime

Eh andrew as disappointing it is for me to say it I tried to figure out how to do this, but I just find myself unable to do it. I don't see to well inside it and was able to found clip, but unable to get it open... it seams as if someone has tampered with the bottom of the car, It looks like a zip tie and would I have to cut them with something or is there some kind of trick to getting it open as there is with most other parts of the car...?

Also does it matter which brown wire you snip? Cause I see some sticking out near the front that i can probably reach, but it feels like there is more than 1 brown wire there.

I would love to pay you for you to do it for me at Carlisle... though. :D

is what the underneath of my driver's seat looks like...

sorry for being a dumbas*, but the whole idea of a seat belt chime by itself puts me in a bad mood and if this was impossible to eliminate i would not buy the car...

Thanks Andrew ! I disable the door/key/seatbelt chimes on all my vehicles. They drive me insane! Very quick simple fix. Took me about 5 min tops. Thanks again !

:( PEOPLE, there is NO NEED to butcher the wiring. There is a software disable that is easily resettable. Instead of cutting up wiring, take the time to locate the .pdf, so that when you sell the car it can easily be restored (without damaged wiring). This software disable has been around for YEARS! :(

You don't need to cut any wires. Use these instructions from 2012.

A seven year old thread resurrected. Digging deeper someone is going to ask about getting in on a group buy on Mercedes type rocker skirts.:p

This is how to do it and it is easily taken back to the original setting.
It is included in this How To list of re settable Crossfire features. CLICK

:) Yeah this one, I had forgotten I posted this back then. I am forgetting a lot of things lately. As the OP states, the whole thing is reversible when you disconnect the battery. Re-enabling it again you SIMPLY do the procedure again! SO SIMPLE and the car wiring isn't touched! :)
