This procedure should be the ONLY option considered. Plus it's easily reversed.

Thanks.

DISABLEING THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME!

From our friend Thomas Whyle... (Credit given)

The correct procedure for the Crossfire is as follows:

1)Turn key to ON/START - within 60 seconds, turn ignition OFF and fasten the driver seat belt.
2)Start engine and wait for the seat belt light to turn off.
3)Within 60 seconds unbuckle/rebuckle the seat belt 3 times - ending with buckled.
4)Turn the engine OFF and wait to hear a single chime (sometimes this verification chime is slightly different just the same it works to disable the chime).

This confirms you have turned the repeater chimes off. Repeat the sequence or disconnect the battery to restore the reminder function."

Disconnecting the battery will reset the chime and you'll have to do it again!

Now, all you folks that butchered your seat wiring, please return it to normal as someone may want that chime to work down the road!

I remember now, there was someone yesterday who asked this and I mistakenly sent him to a wire cutting thread.
Repost your answer there.

Awesome, thanks for posting this up. I am gonna go out and try it in just a bit, hopefully it works as that alarm is annoying. I wouldnt cut anything to get rid of it, its not bad enough to not be able to ignore, but it would be nice to not have it.

Did this about a month ago.. took a few tries as I was one buckle or unbuckle too many. 4/5 mile driveway to open the gate and hated having to listen to it both ways. But there was no way I was going to start chopping wires.

I'll bet I have tried this 50 times. Never could get it to stop.

Two things I would like to mention here.

I found when disabling mine that step 4 was not needed.
After step 3 I heard the chime and didn't need to turn the engine off to hear it.

Other thing to note is that if you disconnect your battery this will reset the alarm back to "alarm enabled" as usual.

I had the same result. After buckling the belt the 3rd time the confirmation chime toned and the alarm was disabled.

Were you sitting in the driver's seat? Doesn't the alarm sound only if you're sitting in the driver's seat?

Edited to post in the sticky, 'Index of Crossfire problems and How To's'.

I keep seeing people advising owners to cut wires to disable the seatbelt reminder chimes. THIS IS NOT NECESSARY! There is a simple procedure to disable the chime that works! I found this out here on the forum and did it to mine, it works! Do the following!

DISABLING THE SEATBELT WARNING CHIME!

So he couldn't decide whether to put it on or not and stumbled across this or what? LOL. Keep waiting for
"Activate US DRL code".. turn on left blinker..open and close right door twice.. after this mod I don't think I could be surprised by a sequence to activate..deactivate anything.

Exactly! And this is why when people try to act like the throttle reset doesn't do anything, I know they either did not do it right, or don't have a heavy enough right foot

my battery died bout a week ago because i didnt shut trunk completely.....today my seatbelt buzzer is going krazy and stuff. It seems that it shuts up going fast but every time i stop or slow down either the reminder or the chime comes back on. I dont want to cut wires and ive tried the whole sequencething 25 times.... i get the same beep after the 3rd click and repeat but it still comes back so i tried doing it and then diconnecting battery and doing it again!!!!!!! please help me with this. i have an 2005 yellow roadster with a little over 32000 miles.....i put new tires new tpms new oil etc.. i would love to keep this car but if it keeps it up i will consider selling and finish restoring my 71 skylark. Again any help would be very much appreciated. my e-mail is jamesbuick69@yahoo.com if i cant find any replies back on here please send me help there...........GODSPEED AND GOD BLESS
