Default Multitude of issues fixed by reading this forum

First I want to thank all the really smart and experienced people that take the time to help other owners. I am truly impressed with the amount of talent represented here.I use to rebuild Mopar muscle cars and without the fancy electronics, it was easy for me to do almost everything myself, to restore a car, hell, I think I could rebuild a Carter AFB in my sleep. This crossfire is a different critter and without this forum, I would have no hair left, so I will list a few things that I have done with the help of the wise folks here

1. TPMS sensor. Batteries were dead, I did not want to spend $200 on new sensors, to get a light to go out on the dash, so disconnect wire #2 on the 6 wire connector in the overhead light assembly

2. Reset FSS, even if not completely resolved yet

3. Replaced cup holder with coin holder

4. What spark plugs are recommended

5 Had severe throttle hesitation with no down shift. Solution: Reset throttle body. holy cow, what a difference

6 Turned off that horrible seat belt chime

7, Filter selection and fluid selections

8 Fixed the wont crank, wont start issue

Whew! and more. So thanks to all who share their wisdom and their time, I like doing all my own work, and could not have afforded a mechanic to fix these issues: besides they would just read the forum to see how to do it

Nice post and thank you for sharing your thoughts.....
So many on Facebook feel that this forum is hard to navigate yet most all important info is archived here
A simple "search" will nearly always provide the answer...yes sometimes its much to read but the answer is here somewhere

Oil Filter (Fleece Type): MANN HU 718/5 / NAPA Gold 7078 / WIX 57078 (I wouldn't recommend a filter element from any other supplier unless you want to purchase a M-B filter element; Lots of sellers on eBay and/or internet vendors with MANN filter element.)
(Note: M-B states that the filter element made of paper is acceptable on the NA (Normally Aspirated) 3.2 Liter V-6. However, most of us use the fleece-type filter element which is the recommended version for the SRT-6 model.)

Oil: Mobil 1 0w40 European Formula / Mobil 1 5w40 ESP (Lots of choices that meet M-B Spec; Look for 229.3 / 229.5 spec on the back of the oil container. Lots of European-sourced cars use this spec. I've got single quarts of 5w40 Synthetic Castrol that I use for our VW Beetle. Meets the same 229.3/229.5 spec. Slightly lower price at Walmart than Mobil 1. I buy my oil at Walmart, which is one of the lowest prices around. Get a 5-Qt jug & 3 of the qt bottles (my preference). 8 Qts will put the oil level on the dipstick at FULL mark. And I don't have any partially full containers around after the oil change, which is every 2 years for me. My $0.02.

With my driving habits, I perform an oil/filter change every 2 years. And I still don't reach the 7000 mile oil change interval. Just don't feel like going past 2 years with the same oil in the car. Attached are a couple of M-B spec sheets for recommended motor oils.

A complete set of TPMS wheel sensors can be had for much less than the $200 you referenced above. Just about any reputable tire installer can scan your wheel sensors & tell which one(s) are defective. That would let you know how many you would need to purchase.

But to clear the TPMS light, you've got to either find a Chrysler dealer that still has the old DRB-3 scan tool that connects to the OBD port in the Crossfire. Option #2 - You need to find someone close to you that has the DRB-3 Emulator software & a TPMS scan tool which can be used to clear the TPMS warning light. There are several of us scattered around CONUS that have this tooling (me included). Option #3 - Invest in the software & a scanner yourself (we're talking about a $250-$350 investment). If you ever plan to attend a Crossfire GTG (Get Together) we put on during the year, you could ask if someone with the DRB-3 Emulator software & TPMS scanner would bring it with them. Takes only about 5-10 minutes to clear the light. I'm planning on bringing the tooling with me to the Ozark Mountains GTG in Eureka Springs, AR, during JUNE in case anyone wants this done on their Crossfire.
