Cool Home service

I just finished giving the Xfire a full service today. Costs as folows:
Oil Mobil 1 0/40 (ebay) 40.00
Oil Filter M.Benz. 8.00
Air Fillters M.Benz. 22.00
Total Cost 70.00

Chrysler wanted 360.00 to do this! Thats one expensive stamp in the book!
I picked up 16 x 1 litre Mobil1 0/40 for 5.00 each delivered on Ebay.
Now that the car is coming up to 3 yrs old Im not bothered about the stamp in the book any more.

Default Re: Home service

I like to collect the stamps. You get a toaster or something.

I think the home service idea is a pretty good one – as long as it’s not too involved. Oil and filters I can do on my own. I’m not that sure about changing cam belts and stuff like that. That’s generally the expensive job in my experience.

While mine is under warranty, I’ll be taking it to Chrysler to service. Once it’s out of that period, I’ll be talking to the garage which used to look after my Skoda to see how much they can do the work for. They work on all makes of cars, and they did a bloody fine job of rescuing my last car after it got some serious flood damage.
