Default Crossfire Catastrophie!

While Ken and the gang were down on the South Coast having a good time, I was grounded with work problems to sort out, and while I got out of going away, I had to stay close to the phone and email.
My only trip out though met with disaster - while driving to Lincoln we past the golf course, as we were cruising along at about 50mph an elderly golf duffer lost control of his speedy golf buggy and swerved off the grass verge into the middle of the road. Despite trying to avoid the bloody thing he slammed it into the near side rear, the rear wheel area taking the main hit, and bending the suspension etc.
I have just had the estimate of £1025.00 which has been posted to said duffer who has admitted responsibility!

Really sorry to hear that Steve I hope you can get it all sorted out with the minimum of hassle. Is it just the suspension/wheel or are you going to need new panels as well?

Steve,
really sorry to hear about your accident, I hope the "old duffer" coughs up with no problems. If you need some "muscle" to pursuade him, I'm sure we can arrange something between us

Pity he did not hit a door then you could have got rid of a rusty one. Sad news.

Thanks guys for the much appreciated comments! The car is now in the workshop awaiting confirmation that payment is forthcoming from Golf Buggy Idoit. The near side rear suspension is getting a full rebuild with all components replaced. Luckily the hub is OK and the wheel is not buckled ,but will need refurbishment and a new centre cap, and the tyre is OK. They have all the lastest laser gear to check allignment of the body shell of the car to ensure that its not bent and to set its tracking. The door, sill and a bit of the rear wing/bumper is scratched but not dented and I think the bottom half of the car will get new paint - at least any existing marks will also be taken care of. Hoping to get it all done over the next week but fingers crossed the £££ will be on the table!

Steve..I did PM all our UK regulars regarding a collection of funds to ensure your Crossfire is repaired...

I have just relized that the grand total pledged would only purchase the required center cap....but never mind, its the thought that counts.

What are the odds? Hit by a golf cart while driving on a road. That just blows. I think it would be time for a reality check which would involve a martini or two.

Your too right Rapp's, but for me Martini was not strong enough - It had to be a large measure of The Famous Grouse Malt Whisky!

I didn't get a PM Ken, or were you joking

Anyway let me know if there is anything I can do Steve, its a real pain when people won't just accept its their fault and do the right thing.
