Default Tyres

HI,
well as a result of the MOT (which was passed), I’ve been told that my front tyres are getting low, so I should think about replacing them.

I’ve looked at BlackCircles.com, but I know there was another similar outfit mentioned but I’ve forgotten the name. BlackCircles have an agent here in Chelmsford, so getting them fitted would be easy. I just have to be sure I get the numbers right. I’d be happier choosing the car rather than by the numbers (I’m like this with RAM for my computers - I use a site which works in this way when I want to add more).

I looked at KwikFit for their prices - WTF!? I could get two decent Goodyears from BlackCircles for the price of one Continental there...

I will continue my research - I’ve a couple of months use before I have to sort them out.

Hi Paul,

I have used www.mytyres.co.uk in the past when I bought a full set of Continentals which wore out after 10K!, but I realy recomend this company. Prices are same as blackcircles but they will match if any higher. I have identified my next set of tyres for the Xfire, which both these suppliers have, so you could, as an excercise compare prices. The tyre is a Falken 452 which was around £100 last time I looked. These have a very good reputation for wear and grip, and rears are also available at approx £140. They also do them in size 275 x 35 x 19 rear if you wanted go a bit wider. These tyres have a good rim protector as well. I had them delivered to home and took them to local fitter who charged £20 fit the lot.
Good Luck!
Steve

Paul,
something to try is to contact whoever is your local Black Circles dealer direct. They will be a Black Circles franchise, often other franchises as well. Black Circles etc take a cut on top of what your local tyre place charge and if you deal direct you may find it is cheaper.

I have found Tyretraders.com very good you can even check out the local fitters to see if they have equipment capable of changing your rears and choose the one you want.
