Default Two spotted today - both at Lakeside

I went iPad hunting today - and I ended up in the retail park at Lakeside. Two Crossfires - one parked near PC World (red coupé) and a black coupé out on the roads there.

Hi, did you get the ipad Paul?
Andrea is nagging me for one, what do think? she wants ir mainly as a surfing and email gadget but lots of facebook etc as well i expect. She has an apple mac desktop with 20" flat panel screen at home so i thought it would be a backwards step? Only the portability being the befefit?

Well, as I have two Macs, an iPad could be a regressive step for me as well, but it is quite liberating.

I can look at the Internet anywhere on a decent sized screen without the bulk of a laptop. It's rather odd as there is no physical keyboard, and you are using touch to control it. I like it, but it's a very different experience. No Flash playback, but YouTube still works.

I found the model I wanted. My thoughts are that you only need the 3G version if you are going to be using the mobile networks a lot. I'm not, and it will be cheaper for me to get a MiFi box from Three and pay for the odd day I am out with it (or the laptop). The extra £100 doesn't seem worth it to me.
