Default seat heaters

I have a problem with the drivers seat heater. The seat bit works fine but there is no heat in the backrest. My Chrysler garage is telling me it will cast £1200- to replace the seat back cover and element! Anyone have any better (cheaper) ideas?

Sure. Go to an aftermarket vendor and buy pads and do it your self, or have them do it. They're basically all the same element pads. The seat covers come off, take the seats out it's easier, the remove the element pads, reconnect wires and you're basically done. 1200 pounds for a seat element is crazy, when aheepskin could keep your **** warm just fine.

My plan, if I don't just buy a sheepskin, if mine goes out, is to go to the junkyard, find a cadillac, best seatwarmers I've ever found, and even if I have to cut the wires because the connections don't match up then so be it. Or I just go the aftermarket route for stuff like this. Stuff particular and special to the specific car is one thing, but generic stuff is quite another.
