Question Seat covers & cleaning the exhaust?

Any suggestions on seat covers available that fit the xf's that also look quite decent?...bought some universal cheapo things that supposedly fit any car...yeah right...not mine
Also if you read my thread on steering dampers you will know I have my motor all ship shape (steering damper fitting aside) & I'll be doing a comprehensive all over clean (sounds ominous ) this weekend & I'm curious to know the best way to clean the exhaust to get that chrome shine (thinking wire wool...will it scratch though?)

Cheers folks & hope you all have a good weekend

Fit seat covers and save the seats for the next owner? Save your money and enjoy it.
Wire wool is OK for pots and pans, not polished surfaces. Search.

Question Re: Seat covers & cleaning the exhaust?

I use my xf for daily commute to work & as I work on site now n then I can get a bit dirty so just want to protect the covers from dirt, dust etc....
& I read a thread on google stating that fine wire wool is ok to use to get a good shine on exhaust tip are our exhausts chrome or stainless steel?
Autosol metal polish looks a good product for the job to.

Stainless steel. Steel wool is not too bad if you use a lubricant on the 'OO' grade (max) or finer.

You use it on BBQ grills and bread rolls?
Something is lost in translation here.

I recommend using a Brillo Pad; these are very fine wire wool, impregnated with soap. These are cheap and very effective. Used these for about 4 years and tips stayed just like new. Its ideal for our stainless tips giving a polished result and not too aggressive. Dip the pad in hot water and rub away, just rinse off afterwards and all the black soot will have gone. Autosol is good too, but takes much longer because you are relying on the abrasiveness of the cream while applying it on a cloth, so hard work getting inside the tips, and expensive.

Hi Doggboy

I use a washing up sponge your know the one with the green scot-brite on the back & make sure it an old used one , No damage to any chrome & use autosol & if your headlight lens are misty i have used autosol to polish the mist off works a treat , But make sure you mask the paint work around the lamp .

Cheers
