Default Crossfire/Mercedes parts...

Before taking the thought of buying a Crossfire any further, I just need an answer to an important question related to the Crossfire/Mercedes relationship.

Am I right in thinking that the engine, gearbox, steering, suspension, cooling system, and other related mechanical parts of the Crossfire 3.2 V6 are lifted more or less straight from a European-spec Mercedes SLK 320 V6, making spare parts readily available from Mercedes UK?

to go one step further, the body, the glass, and the emblem, belong to Chrysler,,,, everything else on it crossfire is Mercedes. Maybe this will answer all your questions if it's a roadster and supercharged it to see 32 if it's a coupe it SLK something. Jim

Yep, I sourced a replacement airfilter from Mercedes for my motor...asked for a SLK320 one and it fitted perfectly. (Although replacing the filter in the passerger footwell is a bit fiddly)

In the end it was £20 cheaper than one from Chrysler.

OK thanks people, and if genuine parts are easily available from Mercedes UK, that means cheaper Patent parts are also readily available in the UK from Eurocarparts and the like, making me one step closer to a Crossfire purchase!

Eurocar parts list for XF and part numbers are generally the same as for SLK320
