Exclamation Engine Warning Light

Help! Doing 70mph on the motorway and the engine warning light came on. Car still drove perfectly well and temp guage is almost half way. Airbag light also came on at the same time. In the manual I have there is no symbol to match the one on the display on the car for engine trouble!
Any ideas as to what may be wrong or how to fix it please?

Did you have the code read on the car, if not that's the first thing I would do to give you some direction. It maybe just coincidence with both coming on at the same time!

I'll double check but don't think a code appeared. Car had a full service a few days ago and no problems found at the time. I'll take it back to the garage and see if they can re set it.
Fingers crossed that it's nothing major - there may be a wire loose as we did drive through some very bumpy country roads!!
