Default SRT Has Landed

Had a great trip over to Belfast to collect SRT with a good run home from Cairnryan Stranrar ferry back home to Newark Notts. I was amazed this car only used three quarters of a tank on the 300 mile journey home running on cruise control 60mph on A roads and 70mph Motorways - thats no different to the standard car. Body and mechanical the cars sound but as usual there the bits that need attention to bring it up to a good standard. Paint will be cleaned and clayed, then machine polished, then hand waxed. Then my growing list of jobs can start!

Some one has fitted a naff HID kit and realy screwed up the headlights. This will be binned! Grr
Wheels need a refurb - mainly NSF but may as well do all
Two rear tyres to go on
Original Warning Triangle and First Aid Kit Needed
Red Stuff Pads needed
Car fitted with a full Parrot Kit which I dont understand and its screwed up the factory head unit Grr
Car fitted with front and rear parking sensors, which will all be binned

Good to hear you got it home safe & sound Steve.
Fantastic fuel consumption would check to see if the blower belt has been fitted if I was you, don't think there are many SRT's that can crack 300miles to the tank, I got 270 on the last one thought that was reasonable.
See ya soon

Good to see you got a proper colour Steve

I've got HID's and Rear Sensors on mine (probably more necessary on a Roadster than the Coupe)

I'll be interested to see how you get on with refurbing the wheels, I'm in two minds about mine at the moment

Lots of jobs done already including a complete clean underneath - just got a few rusty nuts n bolts etc to look at. Its such a shame that new cars are left with bare untreated parts that rust straight away! Main jobs left are wheel refurb, tyres and a few niggling things like this bloody Parrot and the parking sensors Grrr
ps I anyone knows how to remove this bloody Parrot you can have it - or after I rip it out it will become an ex - Parrot

What model Parrot is it?

Most have a harness that simply plugs into the main Stereo harness and then the Microphones etc come from a separate control box. We can have a look Sunday if you like. Do you have stereo removal keys?

No worries, I'll bring my keys.

My Mrs will be with me and she has fitted a couple of these kits to her cars (no I'm not joking)

Hi there, yes they are all finished with a new set of tyres fitted but not picked up yet. Planning to get them on Saturday - Looking forward to seeing them on the car as I reckon it will be a big improvement. Need to re finish brake calipers and brake back plates, replace plastic splash guards at front etc yet. Meanwhile Ive been working through various jobs to get it where it should be, biggest head ache being the holes drilled in the car for parking sensors so now looking for a new rear bumper then I'll start on the front bumper hole filling saga. So lots more to do before this one is allowed out in public!

Thanks for the update, I'm very keen to see what sort of job they make of the wheels as I'm in two minds as to what to do about mine

Im not exactly sure what mine will be like - Ive gone for a High Silver which Im hoping is like the windscreen surround and a powder coated finish. I wanted diamond cut but no one will guarantee the life of the finish for more than 6 months, and once you start shaving off metal theres no going back. So fingers crossed they will be OK

Congrats on the purchase! I made the switch to SRT-6 last year and have no regrets. Don't expect to get 340 miles with the warning light if you start modding and exercising the gas peddle.

Thanks for this - its a completely different car to the LTD and performance is amazing. I will need to keep a cool head with the gas pedal!
