Needswings catch can
Hi guys, just thought id let you all know (unless you already knew) that unfortunately the catch can from needswings doesnt fit the right hand drive xf srt6 without some customization. I bought it thinking ill be doing my pride and joy a favour but its totally set up for the LHD car
. I am exchanging e-mails with rob about the problem so maybe in the not so far away future, we might be seeing some uk versions. The things we do for our cars ayy.

Well basically, the can is set up to fit the brackets on the LHD car but because our engine bay is 'almost' a mirror image, the brackets on the catch can also need to be a mirror image which theyre not so the brackets on the can dont fit. But i say almost a mirror image because the brake pipes on the drivers side stick out so there isnt room to fit the can in without changing the original design of the brake pipes. I hope that explains it, if i work out how to put up a couple of pictures i will. But im still learning coz ive only had the car since july. Aero blue, srt6.

Haha sorry about that, its an air-oil filter which is installed with pipes which go to the throttle body and to the valve covers. It basically stops the oil build up in the engine, thats as much knowlege i have but if you go here NeedsWings Crossfire Oil Catch Can Kit it explains it a lot better :P. i mean its only for people what to install aftermarket parts of course
. I just thought it would be a good thing to get to maintain my engine from oil deposits. Hope this helps any confusion :P.
Goopy oil vapour and condensate are routed out of your crankcase into the intake so they can be mixed with incoming air and burned off to meet emissions standards. The catch can intercepts this grunge and prevents it from gumming up your throttle body etc. Instead of burning the goop in your engine you empty the can periodically.
Do you really need one? No, but it certainly helps keep the engine running clean.
