Default Crossfire Trim.

I recently saw a photo of a Crossfire Coupe minus its silver windscreen trim, and the three section lower wing trim. It was in black, and looked really smart.

What's under the silver windscreen trim? Is there another smaller retaining trim that could be painted?

Is this modification well known in the US?

UKKen.

That was a base model or they painted the silver black. Pretty easy mods if you want the look.

I got mine painted black, they had vinyl wrap on it but that came off. Total costs €100. Now i still need to do the trims on the roof, paint is comming off.

Also there's not much under it that looks good, just some clips to hold the trims. When u take it off start with the top one first.

hi Ken,
The silver trip above the screen just pops off. It will leave the 5 butterfly retaining clips exposed (not a good look) the screen side trim has a small self tapper at the top once removed the trim will pop off. In all Ken only a 5 min job. Quite a number of us have colour coded this trim it was never a factory finnish.

cheers Mo

Hi Mo..When you say never a factory finish...do you mean the quality of the finish or that it and other silver matching items were all fitted after the car left the factory?

Thanks Mo..for the above and the trim picture...I was considering having them ( when I find the right car) painted to match the car colour. I saw it done on a black xfire and it looked great. I also thought I might at the same time remove the three fin's lower wing and fill in that section and have a plan smooth finish there. I may follow your lead and have a S/S system fitted.

I'm hoping come the warmer weather, Coupe owner may trade in for roadster's and I will have a better choice of xfire's to purchase.

Have you fitted the (Shedman) wheels yet? How did the early New Year meet/lunch go at MK ?

Cheers

Ken.
