Default The time has come

I have been contemplating wether to sell the Crossfire or not for a while now, I attended the Duxford show to see if it would give me a bit more inspiration seeing all the other Crossfires there and I did enjoy it "BUT" its still not doing anything for me

Its sad really because my car gets loads of comments, all for the good but it doesn't feel like a true sports car, meaning I like to be sat on the floor low down so to speak.

So I have put it up for sale to see what interest I get.

If I end up not selling are lowering springs readily available to give it that low down look?

I know a lot of you like to keep your cars original but I have never liked the standard look and like to be a bit different and there doesn't seem to be anything to change on the Crossfire so they all look the same.

My wife doesn't see the same side as me and wants me to keep it

We'll see what happens

Russ

Russ...From our previous conversations I understand where your coming from. Don't wast your money on lowing, I personally don't think it will be the answer. I hate to say this but you need to sell the xfire and get a real sports car, which the xfire was never intended to be.

A few pictures and details of your xfire on .org may find a buyer.

Will give you a call later and catch up..

UKKen.

Here's a link to my car for anyone who knows of anyone looking for a Crossfire

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...educed/1498728

My dream is to have a C3 Corvette but sadly funds wont stretch to one just yet.

When the Crossfire first came out I thought WOW I will have one of those one day, well at least I have had the experience of one.

Russ, do you really think a Z3 will be the answer what an aweful car to drive and even worse, be seen driving IMO a Z3 is a step backwards from a Crossfire. Have you considered an SRT6?

I have to admit that I can see where Rus is coming from - I sold my 1st Crossfire as it just wasn't working for me and now I've got my 2nd I'm still in 2 minds. There is a LOT that it does well but there are a few negatives as well.

Good luck with the sale Let us know how it goes

I've owned my car for 8 years now, purchased it brand new off EBAY. I made one change to it in 2007 and it was like getting a whole new car. It still turns heads, like it always did, and satisifies me more than any other car has in the last 40 years.
The Crossfire lends itself to being customized in many different ways, different paint schemes, wheels, lowering, debadging, just to mention a few. Just use your imagination.
Oh, and listen to your Wife.

Mo. There's not much wrong with owning a Z3..but for me the Z4 Coupe is the best of the bunch and IMO it has a great engine, and fantastic body lines.

I test drove a straight 6 Z4 coupe and loved it..but that said, I'm on my third Crossfire and would not change back to a low slung sports car again..I had enought of that with the Marcos V8.

Hi Russ, I have done the reverse of this & owned the Corvette first, great cars plenty of noise & pose & fun to own but be warned if it is a sports car you really want the Vette is much further away from being one than the Crossfire...

I can't believe I still have the Crossfire, hardly any interest at all

Its a shame really because although I polished and waxed it this week I know I will start to neglect it, which I obviously don't want to do.

The price is of course negotiable!!

I am now set on another Z4

Russ

why dont you trade it in if you can find a Z4 in a dealers, i know its not the most cost effective way but when i decide i have had enough of a car it has to go even if i lose money (to be honest i have never made money on cars).......nothing worse than driving a car you dont want to...just my point of view...chris

I know how your feeling Russ. It was a sad time just recently for me too. Sold mine after nearly 6 years. Needed to break that chain. Gone mad now and bought V8 CLK.

Good luck
Jon

Must change my picture.

If the car no longer provides those "smiles to the gallon" then its time for a new toy. Good Luck in your search and by all means let us know what you've decided (pix please). You have friends here, so stop by anytime!

I bought my crossfire soft top for weekends , but my wife has now commandeered the car , and using it as a daily driver , she previously had a SLK compressor (R170) and has commented how similiar it drives!!!!. Looks like I will be back in the old Jag S-type for the forseeable future Women? you cant live with them ,and you cant live without them
