Gaydon is now gathering momentum with lots of interest from UK Crossfire members. This is going to be a good one! This will be a busy event with other car clubs there as well so lots to see and a discount for the museum.

Look out for news about our Winter Warmer which is currently being finalised. The usual email will go out to members about the event which will be based at Milton Keynes over the weekend of 7th and 8th Dec. We have 12 hotel rooms reserved for the group with some at special discounted prices on a 1st come 1st served basis. As previous, there will be the option to arrive on Saturday for the evening get together and stay over, or if preferred, just arrive on Sunday morning to join in the planned activities followed by a nice lunch. I will put full details on here when available. We now have 338 UK Crossfire members on the books, with over 100 more joining us in the last 12 months.

Gaydon Car Rally and 10th Xfire Anniversary - 22nd September

This year brings the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Chrysler Crossfire in the UK. We will be celebrating this milestone with a special Crossfire Meet. We will have our own dedicated parking area and one or two extra treats in store. Gaydon is home to the world's largest collection of historic British cars. The Heritage Motor Centre has over 180 vehicles on display spanning the classic, vintage and veteran eras. With a selection of interactive exhibitions and outdoor activities, the museum is ideal for both families and enthusiasts alike. Situated in Gaydon, Warwickshire just off junction 12 of the M40. Planning is at an advanced stage and we would appreciate confirmation if your are planning to attend.
The plans are now in place for assembling the largest gathering of Crossfires in the UK, so with your support and good weather let us make the 10th Anniversary of this iconic and classic car of the future a day to remember. Date is September 22nd. There will be other car clubs attending, the main one is the 60th Anniversary of the Morris Traveller with Nissan Elgrands and, possibly, MX5 also attending. The Heritage Centre, www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk , has also kindly given us a plug as “fringe” classics on their website. The exhibition opens at 10am with a good restaurant on site and we will be holding a raffle on the day. More details will follow shortly.
The Heritage Motor Centre motor museum in Warwickshire is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars. UK Crossfires will have own parking area. Visitors can uncover the story of the British motor industry with their fun and interactive exhibitions.
Eat lunch in the excellent Junction Twelve Café when you’ve enjoyed the museum.

 

would like to attend this unfortunately cant stay over due to other commitments but would be great to bring the car along and meet a few folks

The Banbury Premier Inn has had fire damage and I have been informed to re-book at another P.I or cancel.

The nearest Premier Inn to the Gaydon meet, is located at Weedon Northampton Daventry NN7 4PX
Tel 0871 527 8288 . Rooms currently available. Down side is its 19 miles from Gaydon some what more than the six from the Banbury P.M.

I'm sure those that had booked Banbury have already been informed of the problem. I suggest that if you still plan to stay over, you book your room sooner than later.

Five couples have booked into the Premier Inn Solihull Hockley Heath M42. 0871 527 8984 for Saturday 21st Sept. Gill has arranged a table for dinner, numbers can be amended.

I will be buying the first round at 7pm sharp in the bar, (Chris & Mo ) don't be late, free beer stops at 7.15

On Sunday after breakfast we drive in convoy to Gaydon, where we have our Crossfire parking area.

big thanks to steve and mike for organising yesterdays 10th anniversary meet at the motor heritage museum at gaydon, once again the weather was kind to us, total of I think 48 crossfire`s attended which is tremendous, good to meet old friends and meet people who have not attended one of our gtg before....well done everyone, the bar has been set at new heights now so lets see how many we can get at Haynes international motor museum in Yeovil October 12th.....chris
