Default How much should I pay for a 2006 Crossfire

The prices are so varied, especially when Comparing dealerships with private sales.

Has anyone got any good advice?

It all boils down to your budget. The more you can afford should give you a better car, but carry out all the checks first. Ideally have a Crossfire owner accompany you when you go to look.
One point to note is to get the lower tax bracket (£300+) compared to the higher tax (£500+) by getting a sub 2006 (March I think) or to be sure get a 55 plate one.
You only have to look on Ebay to see the average price of the Crossfires. Lots for £3k and under.
Garage, and low mileage examples, tend to obviously cost more. £4k plus.
From a garage is good for the warranty (usually at least 3 months- well for the Mercedes parts not the Chrysler parts!) but a low mileage, loved, private example would be my choice. Just make sure you check
all the history and the bullet points raised on this site for things to look for.
If you go for a high miler then make sure the service history is up to date: spark plugs and auto transmission fluid changes at the 100k miles point, to mention a couple of things.
If you can wield a spanner then ownership can be fun and helps to keep the cost down.
Good luck

Thank you very much!

What would you consider “low mileage” on a 2004/5 car?

Graham.

I'd like to say 60 - 70k but that would be hopeful. Still if you'r not in a rush keep looking and the right one may come along.
History is the main thing.
Where do you live?

I am moving from London to North Staffordshire (Audley) in the next couple of weeks. I am trying to find one not too far from there, but will travel if necessary.

Do you think 80k is okay, then? Have found one with just above that.

Many have over 200,000 miles and still run fine. Maintenance is key.

Over 200,000 miles!! You are joking, surely?

I have seen a few advertised with over 130,000 on the clock and shied away from them.

You’ve astonished me.

Yes 80k is more realistic for 2004 year to be fair. History and maintenance is the deal breaker really.
If you go to see it go armed with a check list made up of info off this site and don't buy the first one
you see. I walked away from the first one I looked at (too mush rust around the rear wheel arches).
There are plenty out there just don't let your heart rule your head.
I'm based in Lincoln or else I would have gladly helped. Give a shout out to anyone in the area the car is and see if they can help.
You wont be disappointed when you buy one.

Good Luck on your purchase MC. I picked up my 1st 2005 Coupe stateside with new tires and many other updates for 1600 cash, mostly because the fan blower motor for the AC was not working and I was extending the test drive until I heard the price I wanted. Drove it for sometime and sold it off for a profit. Now I am on my 2nd Crossfire and its the Supercharged Coupe that I plan to keep forever. As mentioned it helps if you are handy with the spanners, these cars love attention and on this side of the pond it is not easy to find a shop that knows them well. Good Luck & Godspeed.

Rust is a issue with some higher mileage cars in the UK. Look at the wheel arch lips for rust for a start.
