Default Modifying thread content

I am unable to add or modify content in my larger posts, I think that either I am being edited because of run-ins with mods or problems with the site that go unfixed.
I wanted to edit my double DIN thread to something close to what I finally did and correct links in my "Index to .....", which have been corrupted.
I also wanted to edit my signature but I cannot as it does not appear in the edit box just like my large threads.
I cannot erase my signature even, I have had many posts deleted which were critical of certain things that appear to be clique related., maybe Big Brother is in charge here.
CICCI died because it became a clique in the eyes of many and no changes could be made because of certain people.

No admins of moderators are controlling your ability to change your signature or edit your posts.
We actually can not put controls on those things
Some of your posts are removed periodically and you know which ones and why
I don't believe any critical important info is in any of the posts that have been deleted

You can send a PM to IB Jose here at Internet Brands to look into the issues your are experiencing

Good idea but when I do send a PM to him I get a message saying IB Jose has chosen not to receive PMs. I guess he is too busy elsewhere. 🙄
This forum is going downhill fast and nobody at the helm seems to care.
My posts that are deleted contain no bad language, I guess the land of free isn't so free these days.
I still cannot see why emblems can be sold in the SRT forum, must be cronyism.

Something between 18 November and today, the site AGAIN will not let me edit my signature. Tried with IE-11 AND MS Edge browsers. If ppl recall, quite a while ago I had an enormous time (trouble) updating my sig, well, something is causing it again. Needed to change the miles to * 31,227 * and date to * Dec 30, 2019 *

It appears I was able to add your signature to my account, can you still not edit it?

Hey @GraphiteGhost and @Robb M. the issue that GraphiteGhost is reporting is due to the usage of the size tag and breaking the What You See Is What You Get Editor.

Robb, does that signature appear correctly in the Edit Signature editor with the markup correctly displayed on your device? iOS? It's possible it could be browser or Windows specific but it looks to me to be universal.

As you can see in the editor, there's two lines missing and it's due to the size tags. Both of those lines have a specified size tag and so the editor is not displaying it correctly during edits.

Hey Robb, if you go back to your Edit Signature in your UserCP, is it displayed correctly in the WYSIWYG editor? As shown above in my screen capture, it does not. Those two lines I have arrows pointing to have a size tag on them, which breaks the editor.

I did confirm this issue is not specific to Crossfire's site. It's also on CF so it's likely an issue with the editor coding.

Good catch @IB JT you are correct, it does appear the size bb code is breaking the CKEditor.

OK, I am hoping the sig does not need to be either shortened or (again) modified on my end. Seems the situation is being addressed but it is all webpage - speak to me. Glad someone is (hopefully) fixing what was 'changed' between Nov 2019, and now. Thanks!

Nearly a week has passed and nothing has changed. Look up Internet Brands on Google and you will see that this forum is small potatoes to this huge company, they probably wish it would go away.
I still want to know the best FB forum to join.
This forum is probably looked after by an intern who gets no pay and is learning as he or she goes.

You are such a negative individual
We were small potatoes when we were purchased by Internet Brands
You have been critical of Facebook all along as well so no need to bring your negativity over there either

The issue is being investigated. That means identifying the issue, finding a solution, testing the solution in non-production environment, then pushing the update to the live servers. That has been the process for some time to help minimize issues - unfortunately this specific issue didn't get caught during the QA process. That this bug involves the editor itself makes it even more complicated. There is no radio button in the software for the team to push that magically fixes the issue. When a critical issue is involved, the process is accelerated but when it's a minor bug then it may get wrapped into a future update as part of fixes for other bugs and improvements. That's not an IB thing - you will find that process is common with software.

All other sites within the network that are using the same setup (i.e., several) have the same bug.

I too hope this is fixed sooner rather than later. I look forward to hearing what the Monday meeting solution is, maybe a schedule (weeks/months) projected for a solution, and implementation of said solution. I know the world doesn't revolve around me and appreciate the opportunity to contribute when I can (like the OEM siren battery issue I just updated). The membership (many if not most) very much appreciates the site, I use it just about every day. Can someone PLEASE at least, keep US members in the loop and up to date? I like to on occasion, update my signature without it getting rejected. Thanks!

For disclosure, it may not be a speedy fix that you may be wanting. It's nothing to do with Crossfire as this bug has been identified as occurring with all other sites in the network using the same editor (i.e., many sites). There is no new update since my previous reply. The issue is known and still being reviewed as to how to address. Since this is considered a bug, and it's isolated to specific usage of the size tag which is limited in usage, it will likely take some time. That it also involves a feature that is not exactly fully supported (which is why the option hasn't been on the toolbar for a while) as it doesn't scale well across multiple platforms, and is also part of a complex editor, doesn't help.

To note, you can still edit posts and signatures and still use the size tag. All that's happening is the What You See IS What You Get editor is not parsing the size tag properly in the preview mode. The tags and content are still there but are "hidden" in the preview due to the bug. You can edit around it and/or use the source button if you have some familiarity with HTML. Yes, it's not easy to update, but it's possible and not actually rejecting any content.
