So Cal Drag shootout
Anyone up for having a meet at CalSpeedway to do 1/4 mile runs? Was thinking of doing it once Dan gets his s/c pulley installed and i get my needswings cai installed. With Brian's mods and other local srt owners with their mods, there should be enough variety of SRT6 for the night to make this interesting.
Of course, would love to have stock ones too partaking in the fun.
anyone... anyone?

If this is for the Street Legal Drags at Cali Speedway, count me out. I used to do these regularly wth my PT Cruiser (14.4 ET is my personal best) but it's turned into a free for all lately. 400 cars, rediculous tech inspection, long lines etc. While I don't mind spending the $20 total to get in ($10 entry plus $10 race fee) it's the standing around from 7AM to 4PM for 2 or 3 runs that just feels like a waste of my day. Oh, and if you don't get there when the doors open at 6AM forget about getting one of the 400 run tickets - they sell out fast.
Now, if you have access to a club sponsored test and tune event that's a different story. I know a couple of guys who've gone that route and got in 8 or more passes in just a few hours.

i figured it can't be any worse for me as i drove to Infineon and only got to do one run. :-)
if you guys know of any place better then i'm down. will drive as far as south as San Diego and as far north as Vegas (this one might require some planning and might as well make a vacation out of it).

A huge problem with Cali Speedway is the gross lack of track prep. I've been there ONE time when it was actually really good, but most of the time even the AWD guys complain they can't hook up. That's bad. Three years ago on the old track they were actually pretty well organized, but it seems to be going downhill since the move to the new track on the other side of the stadium. Add to this that the temps are usually reallly high and there's almost always a nasty headwind, and getting decent times is almost impossible. My 14.4 was run in 95 degree heat with a 20mph headwind and no track prep. It would be nice to know what I would have run under good circumstances! I know that similarly equipped cars on the East Coast are regularly running 13.7 or so.
Saturday was street legal drags at California Speedway - next event is June 14th.
Perhaps Famoso in Bakersfield? Decent track from what I've been told - Friday night Test and Tune on May 9th or May 23rd at 6 PM
I'll have my IC/HE coolant mod done by then....perhaps Dan can get code3 to let him borrow the "Pulley" again..

Well i hope i can get my CAI in and installed before the 9th. I think i'll need to borrow and "test" the s/c pulley too to come close to your time after you get all your mods installed. :-)
